Hi,
I am on the emotional roller coaster now...would like to get off! I found a lump the beg on December. My Dr sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound. My lump did not show up on mammo or ultrasound but the imaging center thought I had some calcifications on the other breast that needed to be watched. Told me the lump was probably just breast tissue scored me a bi-rad 3 and sent me on my way. My Dr was not happy with that answer and sent me to a breast specialist (Yea) who also could not get the lump to show up anywhere. She did biopsy for 'peace of mind'. Got the call this Tues night that it is cancer. Wow. Went in for the MRI on Thursday and found out last night that it is contained!!! DCIS. I feel like I have been holding my breath for the last few days. I never thought I'd feel so happy and relieved to have a diagnosis of DCIS! We meet with the surgeon Wed. She is thinking lumpectomy and radiation. I am 39 with 4 children (11,9.almost 7, and 4). What a week.

Hey MOM3, This is a terrible club for any of us to have to join, but you will find the most support and knowledge of BC and its issues right here. Welcome to the club!! And I am so glad your docs pushed when they should to get an accurate diagnosis. Check out all fo the "threads" and get to know the women here. Ask any question, share any story or concern or laugh. These women are my heros and my angels and I would not be making this journey through BC without them. You will be around a long time for your children. ((((Big HUGS)))) to you and your family. SV

I have been wondering this...I have been having problems with too much estrogen. I was put on progesterone from ovulation to period about 4 months ago. I have been wondering if my issue with too much estrogen is what caused the cancer. I don't know how long it had been going on..I would guess almost a year. The symptoms slowly crept up on me. I had been having issues with migraines with my period (among other symptoms) and just not feeling very good for quite some time. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Ok. still processing what little info I have. My tumor is palpable and 1 cm. This is probably very early right? Trying to think of questions to ask on Wed...any advice is welcomed.
thanks
