Hi;

I was diagnosed stage 1 BC but grade 8, had surgery, chemo, and radiation. Now I am on Tamoxifen for 6 months and have severe joint/bone pain from scalp to toes and fatigue. I had body, and bone scan, MRI, and mammogram and all look good. Also did Arthritis test and was negative. Is anyone experiencing the same symptoms?

    Hey Fayem, the pain may be a result of the cumulative effect of the treatments. Have you talked to your doc, if not do so immediately. I am not as far along as you and I cannot take Tamox, but the chemo and especially the Neulasta shots are giving me terrible pain in the large joints and bones. The fatigue is profound for me. I work with a pain management specialist right now to control the pain appropriately. More women will have much more experience about the drug Tamox and SE's. Hope you get a solution soon. {{{{SOFT HUGS}}}}} SV

    Stillverticle - If you are taking Neulasta - take Claritan.  They don't know why it works but if you take Claritan every day it will help decrease the pain.  The oncology clinic I had my chemo at gives everyone a prescription.  It will take a couple of doses for it to start working.

    Fayem - You have been through a lot.  It will take time for your body to recover.  To help combat the fatigue try to do slight exercise and get plenty of sleep.  I would try walking.  You might want to ask your provider what you can do for the pain....change to a different med, yoga, acupuncture, etc.  I was having extreme pain from Arimidex and was sent to physical therapy.  I was given exercises to do....they have helped a lot.  I also noticed the more tired I am the more serve the side effects were.  I know there is a discussion call "a bottle of Tamoxifen"...or something like that....you might find what you need.  Hope you get are able to find something that helps!!!  Hang in there.
