    Hi Jule,

I was dx with ILC, 1 cm over 3 years ago.  I had surgery, radiation and Tamoxifen.  I am doing well now and going for yearly checkups.  Just be there for your Mom and let her know that you are optimistic about her prognosis.  It will help her to see you remain strong.  Good luck with your Mom!

Thanks so much for ur kind words Nancy. I am very optimistic and my sister and I have been with her every step of the way. She just had a Masectomy done a week ago and is doing well. Since we live in Puerto Rico the Pathology Team recommended us to send the 2  nodes that are suspicious to the states so they can certify that they are positive or not. God willing they are not. Once again thanks for ur words and stay healthy!!

Hi Julie....I am going on 4 years since I was Dx with BC and no evidence of disease...I had several tumors in my breast as well as lymph node involvement.   All the best to your mom and your family.

jule---my mom had ILC (stage 1 or 2, can't remember, but negative nodes)--lumpectomy, radiation and tamoxifen, and is now a survivor of over 23 years and doing very well at 80 years old.  and there are lots of new tests and meds today, so there is lots of hope--she will get thru this and she is fortunate to have your support.

I am glad to read the posts in this thread since my mother was just diagnosed this afternoon with ILC (at this point it is stage 1). I am scared, but I have spent my time here and know that this is the place to come for support! I knew I could find a thread here that would make me feel better and remind me that I need to be there for her and to be strong and supportive for her while she goes through this!

Thank you for reminding me of this ladies!!!! I admire and love you all for the things you do!

    Kelly  & Jule -

I'm sorry for your mom's dx.  It's really great that you are going to be there for her.  I'm sure she'll do fine.  My mom went through a lumpectomy and rads this last spring (stage 1 ductal) at age 80.  Now she the one I go to when I'm down!  My husband is great but there just something extra special about a mom.

Both of you are great daughers!!

    Hi Julie,

I hope your mother is doing okay. My mother just had her first colonoscopy done (this was a nerve-wracking process for me) and thankfully it came back clear. She also had an MRI done and that looked good as well. She is scheduled to see the doc next week to find out her course of treatment. It is hard for me because I went through a 4 month "scare" this time last year (thankfully I just had a benign intraductal papilloma) and she lives in VA and I live in MA. I can't be there physically to support her through this process ~ and I know how scary it is! BUT... for her the worst DID happen, it wasn't B9 after all like mine was. At least I know my father is there for her though.

But, I am going to continue to think positively and to be positive and supportive in all of my conversations with my mother. All I want her to know is that I am here to give her love and support...

I do hope the best for all of the mothers and daughters that are here on this site (and for those that aren't) and I pray that we can find a way to make this site unnecessary one day....

Thank you all for your support....

    Hello Momo3esb,

Very happy to hear that ur mothers tests came back clear, that is fabulous news!!! yupiiiii!!!!! My mother's test came back good too except a very small nodule on her lung that the Onc said she could not see but the radiologist said it was there. She told us that it's problably nothing to worry  about maybe it has to do with mom's old job in which used a lot of chemicals, but we have to keep a close eye on it, she has to get a CT scan every 3 months for 2 years and if nothing happens with it then it is bengin. On friday we will be starting our first Chemo, she is going to get one every 21 days and she is only getting 4 rounds, after lthat she will be on Tamixofen for 5 years if everything goes well ( God willing).

Momo3esb please keep us posted and ur mom is gonna be just fine, u'll see!!

Lots of love and blessings to all

    D:)
