Hi, marypage; for me it was a side effect of spending time on my back after surgery and throughout chemo and developing acid reflux as a result.  My doctors added more Prilosec and it resolved.

I also had a dry cough and post nasal drip, so I had mucinex and nasonex on hand as well.

Warmest regards to both you and your mom.

Yes, I got very "sultry and raspy" sounding during each round of chemo. Chemo stopped, so did my sexy sounding voice!

My voice was raspy with Chemo, however my nurse started giving me prior and during chemo a very cold glass of water to drink and or ice cubes during chemo and that solved the raspy/ hoarse voice .

My best to you and your mom,

    Christine

Well I am glad to know that my strange sounding voice is one of the side affects of chemo.  I noticed it seem to happen to me chemo day and after a few days.  Bringing an Icee with me to my next chemo... YUM!
