WOW Toyah,
I will put in a good word to our Lord.
I just don't think you could be a mommy3two. Definitly a false positive.
Do let us know what happens later.
((((((((negitive vibes))))) for being pregnant
-
Wowza Toyah, here is hoping for a false positive.
-
HOLY COW TOYAH, that must be a huge shock...I think I would have fainted dead away...This is almost like some crazy soap opera from the 80s...be sure to keep us tuned into ""The Young and the Breastless"
-
Wishing you a false positive Toyah.
Alicia are you ready for your reconstruction yet? How much has your ps been filling you and how often have you been going? Mine only does 50cc every other week and I am barely seeing humps I think I am at 250cc. Hoping only for the best on your husbands results.
-
LOL Michele. Y&R was my fav soap back in the day. Young & the Breastless is our lives now, isn't it!
Oh wow, Toyah! Children are definitely a miracle, but pregnancy and chemo don't mix. I'm hoping for the best!! Good luck! and here's hoping you are not mommy2three. Damn, I can't even get my DH to touch me. Didn't you know I'm made of fine china?! According to him, he may break me!
My first TH treatment went kinda OK. Had trouble accessing my port. The nurse came short from jumping up and down on it. Took three nurses to get it working. No allergic reactions, but I did sleep the whole time. Freakin' Benadryl knocked me out. My poor mom sat for 4 hours watching me sleep. Poor girl! I love my Mama!!!!! I got done at 1:30 and slept from 2-5. Now I'll be up all night...
Love to all!
-
Toyah ~ oh dear lord NO. So praying this is a false positive. Please keep us posted.
Mouse ~ I am filled to 410 now my TE's go to 550. They told me to schedule my final fill with the PS as the NP at my surgeon has been doing them. I have a bit of a boob and some cleavage. I don't want big ones. They said to also schedule my exchange so I am on my PS's calendar as they are booking up. I can have surgery 4-6 weeks after my last chemo which is on 2/8. So I have to make the calls.
Just overwhelmed waiting for DH's ct scan results. Also feeling crappy from Monday's Taxol.
Hope everyone is feeling ok.
HUGS ~
Alicia

Cafelovr - My DH feels the same as yours. It was only one time back when I first started chemo but you know what they say....it only takes once!
I had an exam and another blood test at my gyn's office. Also have another blood test scheduled for Friday. Won't know the outcome of the first one till in the morning. The physician's assistant said that if it came back positive then we are definitely dealing with an ectopic pregnancy. Geez...that would mean another surgical procedure. When does the madness end????
I also had my blood work done at my onc's office today. Counts are very low but my onc was out of the office so his PA said instead of getting the shot, I need to come back Friday for another blood test to see if my counts have risen. WTF??? I'm a human pin cushion these days.
Michele - Thanks for the laugh!
Hugs to all
Toyah
-
Alicia, Just how long does it take to get the bloody results??? They should be done the day of the scan. Hope he's OK.
-
Alicia - fingers are crossed for you and your husband
Toya - Its just got to be a false positive! Have you been to the drugstore to see what "the stick" says? I'd be going crazy!
SLV - sorry, I don't have any info on rads/surgery timing. I've got an appointment with a radiation oncologist on Jan 25th. Hopefully I'll find out then if they want me to have rads or not. From what I remember, my ps said that if I need rads, I would have to wait 6 months after to have my exchange surgery.
Alicia and Mouse - my ps filled me to 400cc in one go immediately after the mastectomies. I've never heard of anyone having this done - but she seemed to think it was normal. I woke up after my mastectomies with fairly big foobs. I was in horrendous pain for about a month, taking mega pain killers every 4 hours. I've only had 2 fills since then (40cc and 60cc) and so am now up to 500cc total.
The kids' stomach flus have passed and so have my SEs! Yippee. I'm going shopping with a friend tomorrow - I'm looking forward to some retail therapy!
-
Hi everyone update on hubby ~ no tumors seen. Some bowel inflammation. We see the dr. again next week to check his blood levels. If still elevated they will send him to a GI dr for a colonoscopy. So I am taking this as good news so far ~
Feeling not too bad from Monday's Taxol ~ have my son home with a cold. We are going to watch a movie together.
Hugs ~
Alicia

Toyah -- There are a few articles out there that say increased levels of HCG caused by breast cancer can produce false-positive pregancy tests. Hope that's what it turns out to be!

GREAT NEWS Alicia !!!!!! My DH has a colonoscopy scheduled for next month. They have never found another polyp since the one that was cancerous. Not a pleasant experience to go through so good luck to your hubby.
Sue
-
Alicia: Glad to hear that no bad news so far, and hopeful that there is no bad news coming!
Toyah; Still sending you good vibes (I won't say positive vibes) I hope that it is like the article that Pam posted and this is a false positive and not an ectopic.
I did my bald and boobless photo shoot yesterday. It was an interesting experience, I haven't seen pics yet, I will get a disc next week. The photographer is interested in doing a photo journal on my process.
I am not bouncing back from chemo, it gets worse everytime. I do AC #4 on Monday and then I am done with the AC. I'll find out my next cocktail and do 12 of those.
I am feeling tired and afraid of getting discouraged. But this too shall pass.

Hey hey, I haven't been on the site since Jan. 5th. Just spent an hour catching up. Have either been busy or not feeling well at all. Finished A/C on Dec. 15th, but the SE's just kept rolling in. Have had 3 Taxol TX and, though I have no pain at all, have absolutely zero energy. Am anemic and low hemoglobin, causing shortness of breath and racing heart if I try to do anything as simple as climbing a flight of stairs. I use to so look forward to going to bed at night, however, that is just not fun anymore. Am either sweating or freezing, and seem to be awake more than asleep. I read one of BrendaSharon's postings around Jan. 6th when she was so down and I could have written it myself. I hate all this. I want my life back. I thought the Taxol was supposed to be so much easier. I always feel great on TX day, little energy the next, even less the next, no taste buds at all, so nothing tastes good. Finally start feeling half-way decently the day before the next TX, just in time to start the whole sucky process all over again. And then I read about Alicia's DH, sick kids, DH's out of town and I am ashamed that I even complain. I know I should be grateful to be able to just get out of bed.
5 more Taxol TX's and then radiation for me. Just found out that I have to wait 2 weeks after my last Taxol before I can get the port out, so haven't met with the rad. onc. yet since that wouldn't start until into March.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
-
Doronette,
Sorry for your feelings, but I understand completely. This is most definitely NO FUN as you say, not that it ever has been, it just is getting a little more difficult for all of us the longer the journey goes. I have no idea when my port comes out, but I'm dreading that. I almost don't want to get it out. I had pain for a month after it was put in, so I'm scared
to have them take it out now!!!!Where you told you wouldn't get radiation until the port was out? Because i was curious myself how soon I might get my rads after chemo is done and over,(which isn't until Feb. 10th).
Mommy2two,
What is going on? Hope you got some negative news soon!!
Alicia,
GREAT news there were not any tumors seen. I am happy for the both of you!!
Colonoscopys can be handled, I know they don't like those anymore than we like ore paps and our mammograms, etc.But we do what we must!
Warriors have a great weekend, chat with you all next week.
((((HUGS))))

Melinda: You are ALMOST there. Hang in there, girl. #4 AC nearly tore me down...it took a while to get over the SE. But I did, and normalcy will return. I'm now doing 12 weeks of Taxol/Herceptin, and all I can say is so far, so good! A little heart burn and crampy tummy, but no pain, no nausea. The Benadryl they give you in your pre-chemo cocktail will knock you out!
Nette: Are you doing DD Taxol or weekly? Do you think the steroids are keeping you awake? Talk to your onc. You cannot go without sleep!!! Be happy for the little blessings. You get your port out soon. Mine will have to stay for AT LEAST a year! UGH.
One minute I'm hot and one minute I'm cold. I was wondering if the hot flashes were starting. Our lows in NC are in the upper teens/lower 20s. I froze my DH to death the other night because I had to sleep with the window open. I may soon get my own room...
-
Nette ~ sorry you are feeling so down. It is understandable. This isn't fun ~ but we can do it. I too have the heart thing on the taxol, when I lay down I can hear it beating so hard. I hate Taxol. Less tummy stuff, but the pain is unbearable at times. I am feeling better today. 2 more to go so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I get the dense dose ! YUCK ! Hang in there sweetie.
Melinda ~ sorry you are down too my friend. I hear you. Like I said above. THIS SUCKS ! But we will get better and hopefully start living again really soon. Healing hugs ~
Linda ~ so glad to hear so far so good for you on the Taxol/Herceptin cocktail. Did you get the pineapple and umbrella with this weeks cocktail.
Hope you continue to keep those SE's to a minimum.
Brenda ~ hope you are feeling good and enjoy the weekend !
Toyah ~ are you feeling better?! Thinking of you.
Suepen ~ will keep my fingers and toes crossed that your DH's tests next month all come back CLEAR!
Pam, Mabelle, Mouse, Michele ~ hope you are all doing ok !
Hugs to all !!!!

Does anyone know does your hair on head start to grow back while onTaxol ??? When I cut my medium length hair after 2 week of A/C treatment, I saved it, NOw I have my girlfriend wanting to cut her long hair and donate for me to make a real hair wig .....I hate to have her do this if my hair will grow over the next months...(just has mascetomy Tuesday) will start Taxol beginning Feb.......Just wanted to see if you girls were told what to expect , I didnt discuss with my Oncologist last time I saw her..I appreciate any insight
-
Cathy, I can't help with your question..I only wonder how long it would take to make a wig...I thought it was a long process...check that out as well. Either way it is a sweet and wonderful thing your friend is willing to do..
-
cat60
I had reviewed from other posts that hair grow back about 4-6 months after chemo stops. Some of the girls noted it did grow back on Taxol. From experience, I had my hair made into a hip-hat and that took only two weeks, but for a full wig it could take quite some time. About 1-2 months.
Don't you hate it when once we are a the onc's we can't think of what to ask. I always feel like I'm being put on the spot.
You can research back on some of the other threads to help get your answer. Try going to a thread from a year to a year and a half ago for the chemo before during and after.Maybe Jan 2008 would be good. I'm sure the girls will help there if you ask them! The sisters there would know something by now and be able to answer truthfully.
I hope your doing well since your surgery~~~
((((((((((HEALING HUGS))))))))))

I have a bit of hair growing back on Taxol. It is a very faint fuzz ~ I have had 2 Taxols so far since the AC. I am sure it will be awhile till it is a covered head of growth.. That is very nice of your friend!
Some exciting news, my exchange from my Tissue Expanders to Implants has been scheduled for 3/16 !!! woo HOO softer foobies ~ That will be 5 weeks after my last chemo. I can't wait to get this darn uncomfortable things out. I see the PS on 2/1 for my final fill ~
-
Alicis, Yah, new foobies...how exciting..you should go out a hoist a couple..beers that is.
-
Hi Warriors! I hope you are all feeling decent with little to no SE's today!
Two more additional blood tests came back negative. The rad onc assumes that the lab mixed my results up with someone else's and she is NOT happy about it. I don't know if it was a false positive or if they mixed the results and don't care...I'm just thankful it was negative! Anyways, I got my CT scan and markings today. I go back next Friday for my simulation and tattoos then start rads on the following Monday. I know rads is supposed to be a breeze compared to chemo but it sucks that I have to go everyday after work.
I was on TC with my last one being 12/31. My hair is coming back in and some spots have probably about a 1/4 inch sticking up but other places are still bald and smooth. Weird and not attractive at all!
Alicia- Congrats on getting your exchange scheduled...I know you are looking forward to that! My counts were up today so I didn't have to get a shot, I'm tired but feeling better.
Have a good weekend!
((((HUGS)))
Toyah
-
What a relief Toyah, I am so glad you got a negative and don't have to worry about an ectopic.
As people finish chemo are they going to be leaving us, I don't want anyone to go! I still have at least three more months of chemo before I graduate to rads.
-
Toyah, oh my goodness what great news..and your counts are up...great as well.
Don't worry Melinda I will be her until everyone is done...besides I am addicted to this place now...it is like my drug of choice.
-
Melinda, I have chemo until March 31. Then surgery. Then rads. I ain't going no where!!! I'm just happy to be done with the AC! My year is pretty much screwed...
Toyah, I'm glad for the good news.
-
Good Morning, Ladies!
Oh, Toyah!!! Glad for your news, sorry you had to worry! And Alicia, so happy your hubby's results are good! I'm praying for continued good news, as well!
Nette, Your posting could have been written by me! I freeze all day and then when I go to bed and try to sleep, all I do is alternate between shivering and sweating. I first thought hot flashes, but now, I swear, it's more like spontaneous combustion.....meltdown!!
Guess what? Oh, yeah....uh huh.....I'M DONE!!!!! And I ain't going nowhere!! I want to stick around and see all the Warrior Sisters HEAL & THRIVE!!! TX #4 was absolutely the worst, the joint pain started before I could even get home...I am finally starting to feel better, but it is just scary how fast my body has lost strength and stamina. I get so tired just doing little things. So, now I'm on a mission to strengthen myself. I see PS on Jan 20th, tissue expander still not completely full, but maybe two more fills is all. Now I've got a lot of things to learn about implants, etc. There is a really good forum called EXCHANGE CITY & a new one, I think it's RECONSTRUCTION 101, for those of you looking forward to reconstructions. Lots of good information.
I'm actually going to get out of the house today....some therapeutic shopping!! HAPPY DANCE!!!
-
BrendaShar: my onc said that I can get radiation right after the port is out. (My last Taxol is Feb. 16th) I found out that the port removal involves numbing the area, freezing the surrounding tissue, taking out the port, and you leave the office with a band aid. (Surgeon's nurse told me this.)
Cafelovr: I'm doing the Taxol weekly. Not sure if it is the steroids keeping me awake or not. I do have Ativan I think I need to take. Can't believe you have to keep the port in for a year. ugh.
cat60: I was told that if you haven't lost your hair before Taxol, you will loose it during those TX. I still have stubble all over, but it isn't growing at all.
mommy2two: soooooo glad you get to stay "mommy2two!!!!!"
Psalm121: happy shopping!
And I ain't going anywhere anytime soon either! I need you, guys!
-
OH No I'm not leaving either ~ I will be sticking around to see how everyone does. I cannot imagine not checking in on you all each day. Glad to hear from many of you whom have been quiet.
Hugs ~
Alicia
