is therapeutic ultrasound and TENS safe in cancer patient?

Options

is anyone know if transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and therapeutic ultrasound machine that the physioterapist  use are safe or contre-indicated in cancer patient?

The physiotherapist is using these two machines in my lower back to see if my pain will go away. So wonder if it is safe for me.

Ultrasound and TENS are contraindicated if done over the site of an active cancer.  As long as you don' t have mets to your spine you should be fine receiving either of these modalities.  Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Jo, how the doctor saw your arthritis. would it be seen on a bone scan or lower back MRI?  I had both and both turned out normal. I have pain similar to sciatica but the orthopedist rule out this, he told me this is more likely sacroiliac and to do physiotherapy and get an epidural cortisone injection. I have been having this pain since Aug and nothing seems to work. the oncologist make me stopped femara for two weeks with no luck, then she referred me to orthopedist. My oncologist told me that she is 99.9 percents sure that it is not mets but I am still concern.

Terri I sent you a pm
