    Hi there.

I'm so very scared. I had breast cancer 6 1/2 years ago and I have had 3 severe dizzy spells during the night when I woke up. When I roll over and turn my head I get so dizzy it's scary. I've only ever had this happen 2x before and the Dr. thought it was vertigo.

If anyone has any knowledge of mets to the brain, I would really appreciate knowing if this scenario sounds familiar. I have a call into my oncologist, who I only see know when I want.

    Thank you so very much.

My MIL has a condition called Benign Positioning Vertigo - Google it, to see if it sounds like what you are experiencing. It happens with aging, and is something to do with crystals in the ear. Her symptoms sound very similar to yours.

Good to get it checked out by a Dr, but there are many other things it could be other than BC.

Yeah, I've had several bouts of BPV and I was sure it was brain mets. Have a friend who had it too and she taught me some very simple exercises to do to get rid of it. I improved immediately so figured it was BPV not brain mets.My onc had no idea what it was--I had to tell him.Try the exercises first, its cheaper than having your whole brain scanned.

I have brain mets and had benign positional vertigo a few years ago.  I have zero symptoms from the brain mets.  No dizziness...nothing.   I did have dizziness from my BPV a few years ago, but I googled the exercises you can do at home and it cleared up right away.  BPV made me very dizzy while laying down or moving my head around.  Try the exercises and if you do not get relief definitely talk with your doctor because you may have an inner ear issue?  Best of luck to you!!

    Lisa,

How did they find the Brain Mets? By MRI or CT Scan ????

Before my friend was diagnosed with brain mets she was very dizzy during the day also and almost drove off the road into a river with her children in the car!!!

This made her insist on the tests, she also felt dizzy in the grocery store and at the school yard, an mri of the brain  showed showed some lesions and she was her2 +.

I hope you're not  but do ask for a brain mri.

    Tricia xx

cat60 - My brain mets were discovered on accident.  I was trying to get into a clinical trial this summer which meant getting a baseline brain MRI.....I had never gotten one before so it was a complete surprise that the scan showed two little mets in there.  I never would have guessed.
