B17 injections
Anyone ever try doing injections of B17 or know of someone who has? I read about a regimen of supplements, nutrition and injections of B17 and I'm just curious if anyone has tried it.

Hi Pam
I do B17 injections and tablets. The injections I do once per week and the tablets I take daily with my other supplements. The injections follow vitamin C infusions that I do weekly as well. My ND believes the B17 (laetrile) to be a cancer killer. Others that get the injections at the center I go to have had really good success. People with all kinds of cancers. Whether it is the vitamin C that helps or the laetrile or a combination - I don't know. But the center I go to has been using it as part of their treatment plan for years. If you would like further info, feel free to PM me.

Deni. Hi again. Thank you for responding. I just found out that I have mets to the lung. When I was first diagnosed with BC in 2008, I did TCH (Taxotere, Carboplatin, Herceptin). I had bilateral mastectomy and radiation. Obviously, none of these even phased my cancer because it is back stronger than ever. I'm only 36 years old and I have 2 little boys (ages 2 yrs and 7 yrs). I need to try something that works. Have you met anyone with mets (specifically lung mets) that have had a good outcome with the B17 / Vitamin C regimen?
Thanks,
Pam

Pam-
I see that you are in FL. I wanted to tell you that there is an upcoming cruise leaving from Ft Lauderdale at the end of March. I went on it last year and learned alot. The cruise features vegan/macrobotic foods as well as yoga, meditation, etc. There is a book called "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell and he will be a speaker on the cruise. He talks about the effect of nutrition on cancer. He has proven that you can make the cancer dormant by diet. There was a "survivor panel" of people that have changed their diet and are stage 4 and doing well. The cruise info can be found at www.atasteofhealth.org . I don't know if any of this info appeals to you or not but I wanted to let you know about it. I am not going on the cruise this year because my daughter is coming to see me over that week. If you don't go on the cruise, please still consider reading "The China Study". You need to do everything you can to stop feeding the cancer. I am so sorry that this is happening to you.

Hi Pam,
So sorry for your mets - ugh! At risk of having rotten eggs thrown at me here, lol - I just want to add a voice of caution.
B17/amygdalin/ laetrile/apricot kernels/etc - is not an approved prevention or treatment for breast cancer. Many, many science-based studies have been done and have not found it to be useful at all; in fact it has been shown to be harmful and to actually result in decreased survival. It is well known to kill cancer cells, as proponents love to say, but the reason it kills cancer cells is because your body metabolizes it into cyanide!
Same thing for Vitamin C - no one doubts that Vitamin C in some dosages helps with overall health, but there is no proof that it is a useful treatment for cancer, and it has been proven to interfere with chemotherapy.
The accuracy and credibility of "The China Study" has been called into question and debated many, many times.
Of course your ultimate treatment decisions are yours alone, and should be respected as personal choices, but please make sure you're well informed and don't let fear and desperation drive your treatment.
There are lots of resources for both alternative and conservative treatment, and I've recently posted several of them here on the alternative group to discuss the credibility of each. Try not to get caught up in the us-versus-them nonsense (conventional vs alternative). Do your research and make choices that you are comfortable with.
Here's one article on Evaluating Health Information on the Internet that may be helpful: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Information/internet
Have you posted on the Stage IV/mets board? Being in a similar situation, they may have some good advice for you too. Best of luck in your treatment!

Hi Pam, I am so sorry that you are going through this and realize you must be terrified. Also, I realize that you are here because you have tried conventional treatments and they haven't worked for you. And, therefore, you are seeking something more. I do know people at the center that I go to who have done well with mets on the vitamin c and b17 protocol as well as other supplementation recommended by the docs. there. These are real people with real success stories. I would recommend that you find a qualified doctor in your area who can help you with putting together a protocol that would also include the right diet as well as supplementation and exercise. You may want to contact Hippocrates In Palm Beach.
I would also recommend that you read the book AntiCancer A New Way of Life by David Servan-Schreiber. Doctor Schreiber has survived for about 20 years now after fighting terminal brain cancer by changing his diet and lifestyle. Also, the documentary, "Crazy Sexy Cancer" by Kris Carr who was diagnosed with a rare lung and liver cancer. She stablized her cancer through lifestyle as there were no treatment options for her. She's also got a website: crazysexycancer.com.
I wish you the best.

Pam, I am SO sorry to hear that. Big hugs to you and GOOD FOR YOU for wanting to fight this with all guns blazing!
I don't do B17 injections, but I do eat nitriloside-rich foods such as apricot kernels and millet. B17-rich foods are abundant in cultures that have little or no cancer, but those foods have been all but deleted in the modern Western diet.
As for this opinion:
B17/amygdalin/ laetrile/apricot kernels/etc - is not an approved prevention or treatment for breast cancer. Many, many science-based studies have been done and have not found it to be useful at all; in fact it has been shown to be harmful and to actually result in decreased survival. Yes, this is the popular view as it's what most doctors are indoctrinated in medical school. If you've read G. Edward Griffin's "World Without Cancer," you understand why that is a half-truth at best that is in effect completely inaccurate. (Funny that doctors are more than willing to inject synthetic, systemic poisons into our bodies, but roll their eyes at a purely natural substance that is TARGETED to cancer cells specifically?! not a slam on you, thenewme, I certainly can't fault you for believing what Quackwatch and the like tell you!) I firmly believe that early high doses of B17 are what helped shrink my initial tumor, and I plan to consume B17-rich foods for the rest of my life. If you haven't read Griffin's book, please do... and Google "World Without Cancer" to see a one-hour video introduction of it.
I second the "Anticancer: A New Way of Life" recommendation and also recommend anything by Dr. Lorraine Day. She is a survivor of a grapefruit-sized tumor (it was breast cancer but actually jutted OUT of her chest) that was cured completely naturally some 20+ years ago (diet is only one small piece of what she recommends, FYI -- other components are additional lifestyle changes such as what kind of daily exercise you get, when and how you sleep, etc.).
Please also read the threads here about iodine, vitamin D, and natural hormone balance. I also firmly believe that a complete, radical change in diet and lifestyle are MANDATORY for surviving and thriving. All-organic EVERYTHING, no processed foods, get daily exercise and sunshine, sleep in complete darkness, eliminate stress as well as you can (I know, easier said than done on that one!) etc. ((((hugs)))) You will overcome this!!

Hi Pam, I looked for you on this forum since the last time we posted you and I were going to be in Moffitt for surgery at the same time at the end of Nov./beginning of December. I had at LD and prophy. mx. I was wondering how you were doing.
Then, I saw your posting that your cancer has progressed even after all the treatments. I am SO very sorry to hear this. You must be angry, scared, and desperate to find something that will work.
I wanted to mention and perhaps you know this already that Stage 4 women are put on Herceptin permanently when the are HER2+. And...I haven't looked recently but after reading a lot of posts here in the Stage 3/4 threads, there were many women who had been on Herceptin for years after mets who still were living good lives. I asked my Moffitt onc (Minton) if I could stay on Herceptin after my 1 year since I am Stage 3c. She said there wasn't research to support this for Stage 3, but I would have liked to. I hope perhaps Herceptin can work for you and stop or slow down this nasty cancer until other treatments are available. You and your family are in my thoughts, deekaay.

Hello Deni, my name is Gary from Delaware
I have a friend who has Ewing Cancer in advanced stages and have interest in the name of the Center that you were or are being treated and some insight on B17.
I would appreciate any info you or any other person on the post might have to offer.
You may contact my friend's father at PreeNeedJoe@aol.com or myself at Got2RockOn@aol.com
My prayers are with all of you and I hope to read many success stories in the near future.

Hi Gary, I sent you a PM.
-
Ronald, thank you for posting. And congratulations on your girlfriend's success.
Would you be kind enough to post the list? It would also be helpful if there is a particular brand of enzymes, apricot kernels, etc. There seems to be a disagreement whether Wobenzymes is as effective as simple healthfood store enzymes.
I seem to remember they took one kind of apricot kernel off the market in the US-- the stronger kind, I think.
Thanks!
-
Ronald,
Oddly, I never thought of the internet as a source of apricot kernels. What was I thinking? They were an underground thing at one point. I know some people who were buying actual fresh apricots and breaking them open. AIDS patients use them also.
Thank you so much for the helpful information. There is a doctor named Nicholas Gonzalez who has had a lot of success with enzymes (he got his information from the files of someone named Kelley who prescribed them). He says the trick is often finding just how much the patient needs. I think I will locate your enzymes and give them a try.
How did you come up with 40 mg zinc twice a day? Is this to suppress copper?
Thanks again,
Mollyann
