This has been a very l-o-n-g day, which has had absolutely nothing to do with BC, but the end result is that I am very worn out and feel depleated.
So I'm headed to bed.
In theory, I have a school visit to make tomorrow.
Hopefully my brain & attitude will regroup thru the night...... and that returning to my normal routine will bring me some strength.
Thank you for the love and prayers. I'm counting on you guys to hold me up thru the coming 24 hours, which could turn into 24 days....24 weeks.....24 years.... LOL..... for that matter I'm always counting on you.
xx00xx00xx00xx
Edited to remove the great big 'inactive' picture box. It was so perfect. Beach pic that said thank you across the sky. You'll just have to use your imagination..... I was wondering if it would stick.
Now you can just appreciate Lisa's real pictures.

Day is done, gone the sun

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Lets pray its a NEW year for everyone....I haven't been on for so long and I have to catch up on my reading. I always think of everyone on BC...It was such an awesome group to guide, laugh, and escape to. I see the regulars are frequenting the beach...sorry I had mine burried in the sand for awhile.
Always, thinking of you all...keeping up the prayers...and hoping everyone has a Blessed New Year!
Always,
LUV

OK beachies. Home from my "school day" visit as the happy-music-lady.
It was one of my 'regular' schools, so I didn't have to over-think anything. It was fun to share my new 'Tall Giraffe' book with these big preschoolers. I'ver known them since they were infants, many of them, and they were genuinely "proud" of me for having a new book.
They were literally squeeling with excitment..... so it's been a great day.
No news yet..... of course I wasn't expecting any this early. He said if it were to come back today it would be VERY late in the day & it would likely be evening by the time he got hold of me.
I have an elementary school tomorrow, big kindergarten kiddos. I've been there several years in a row, but their K teacher retired, so tomorrow is a novice teacher. We spoke today at length and she sounded like a child on Christmas eve. Another very bright spot for the day.
Thank you all for huddling up and sending the hugs.
Will report when I know anything.
xx00xx00xx00xx

Hugs for all who need 'em.
Hope you hear GOOD NEWS soon Faith.
To all the beachettes.
-
Swiss cheese brain! LOL.
I saw from my phone, in the parking lot this morning that we had some beach-LUV and I've gotta tell ya it started my whole day off on the right note.
It is indeed good to see your ballerina-face amidst our waves, sand and friendships.
Welcome home, princess. Just how cute is that avatar??

Thinking all day long of Faithie!! Hope your day was busy enough to keep you occupied. And hope you sleep well tonight!

I've been on the phone since I posted several hours ago.
My surgeon called. The path is in. It is indeed DCIS. He calls that cancer. 3 cm.
I just deplore the having-to-tell-everyone portion of this journey.
I have spoken to everyone in my biological family.
To their credit, my DH, each of my daughters & my parents have said the right things & avoided saying the 'wrong' things. LOL.
I've trained them well.
I am scheduled for a bilat mastectomy (I guess it's time to learn how to spell that word) with no recon. Friday Jan15th..... yes. In a little over 10 days. First surgery of the day, as of this moment 7:30 a.m. That is my daddy's birthday and I take that as a good omen.
In speaking with him/them tonight, he said that he'd be happy to share the goodness of that day with me and my med team and Martin Luther King, Jr. (well actually I'm adding that part.... but it is a good day in all of my experience.)
So please don't say: "I'm soooo sorry." Enough non-BC people will be saying that for the next several months, I really don't want any of you to say it.
Yes. We're all sorry, we're sorry to be in this boat.
Thank goodness there is a boat for us, though. A boat together.
This time around I do have enough sense to grasp that stage 0 is stage 0.
My surgeon wants to impress upon me that I am opting for an emotional removal of healthy boob-ness & that it is not medically indicated.
I get that.
I've made the decision to proactively remove every zip and squat of everything, breastage. End of discussion. I'm a fairly emotional person. I have grandchildren...... I want to do EVERYthing in my power to be here for them.
Enough about me, how was your day??
I will go next and post something on FB.
Thank you for your prayers. Keep them coming: calm & acceptance.

Well!!!!!!!!!!!! It's news!! Now you've got a plan! It's always good to have a plan.
Does this mean we'll have to have a farewell party for your "girls" here on the beach. Maybe we can toss them out to sea from one of our sailboats........or toss them from #32.........
I'm glad you're ok Faithie. There IS life after boobs. As a matter of fact, it makes some things much easier!!
((((((((((((((((((((big hugs to you))))))))))))))) I'm so proud of you!!
-
Here's to life-after-boobs.
xx00xx00xx00xx
We'll have a send-off party Louisiana style. You can bring the party favors.
LOL
-
Laissez les bons temps rouler (pronounced lay-say lay bon ton roulay)
"let the good times roll"
I'll bring the favors!!! It IS getting close to Mardi Gras
Maybe some masks and beeds to hide our faces.....
just in case we get out of hand.......LOL
-
Faith now you know where you stand. I can relate to you for no pitty party, no sorries. Thats what I said when was first DX. I told the daughters, friends that I dont want anybody using the word you poor thing and I wanted to be treated the same way as it was before. Yes, I was scared so are you, we are humans, but you will sail this second journey with more knowledge.
Sometimes I think its more difficult for our loved ones to handle it.
We are all here for you.
God Bless You my friend, God Bless You.
Hugs
Sheila♥

Faith...you have chosen the path to take...next step is to do it..
of course, lots of us will be holding your hand..I had one mast
with no recon over eight years ago and am happy with that decision..
we are all climbing aboard the USS Midway, to pile all your
friends to come on down to the beach and board her..
I was there today and there is plenty of room
-
Hi to all you Beachettes,
I can not believe we are so close to 500 pages. Coonie, could you please pick out an outfit for me, some thing slinky or elegant, you decide.
The food, decorations and the beach look great especialy with the males hanging out (hahaha).
Faith, I really do not know what to say. I have gone through a bilateral mastectomy and will help you with any questions you may have. PM me w/ any questions. I will bring the beads for the going away party for the girls. I collected them in New Orleans (okay I would not show my breasts, I guess you could say I stole them.) hahaha.
I wish I was computer savy and able to post pics, I would have a beautiful sunset for this evening. Good night to all and see you on the beach tomorrow.
(((((Hugs and Prayers)))))

The first waltz thru cancer-land, I did indeed use the phrase: getting my ducks in order..... so much so that I received quite a few rubber duckies, a duck hat & puppet and duckie greeting cards.
Is there a 'better' mascot for the second waltz? I'm open to suggestions. Jane, over at the housework put up a beaver picture -- as in dam. I think I've going to challenge you to find all pics beaver for this trip. LOLOL.
Love you. Big day.

Good Morning Beachettes!!!!
Faith I am taking Your Cue & running with it!!!! Wasn't sure I could find one of these on the Beach....and the more that I look at this I think it's a "GUND" or something!
But this is as close as I could get without Crossing a Delicate Line!!!! You know I get close to that ONE!!!! Hahahaha!
