My gosh I am behind the curve. Yes I want to do this. Will PM for a spread sheet. I did get in exercise on the 1st to make up for my lazy behind on the 2nd if my sports with kids will count. This is an awesome idea. I am so in.
-
You already know Im in.
Jan 1st....check. Jan 2nd.....check. 30 minutes of cardio + weights. Still doing the coch potatoe to 5km thing...lol. I have noticed I can now run 2 minutes without feeling winded good feeling.
Only thing is I have my exchange surgery Jan 21st and might be resting for 2 days, but will try 30 minutes of walking at least.
-
Ok I'm in just got WII does that count ?...I am being serious honest ...C
-
Hope it counts, Victoria...I just did 31 minutes on my new Wii fit Plus! So far, I've been laughed at and called a dork..but hey, I had fun.
-
Yes, my darling boy. It's OK...it's his turn on the Wii now, lol.
-
Cindy - are you enjoying the Wii fit Plus?? Think it is well worth the extra $20. I need to investigate all the strength training stuff....
-
Kerry, I haven't even checked out the strength training portion. Did some aerobics and training plus, then yoga. So far, I really like it!
-
You can set up your own training programme, and it will do a full routine for you. Will investigate tomorrow when the kids are back at school!
-
Count me in!
I'll PM you my e-mail address Mary - so excited.
I have the Wii Fit Plus too! I did the step aeorbics but is going to start the yoga this week. Hard to do with husband and kids home!
-
Lexislove - I need your email address.
Everyone else should have received the spreadsheet by now! Including Lexislove there are 17 of us!
I went for a swim today - swam 1/2 mile straight with no breaks - ALL CRAWL STROKE. That is the first time I have ever been able to do that! I usually have to throw some breast stroke in to recover. 1/2 mile in about 25 mins!
-
A little late on the gym today. I actually had an afternoon nap...lol. Just had dinner, so I will hit up the treadmill in about 2hrs.
-
ohh a nap sounds nice, I am wiped!
-
I'm in... I'm so excited! Thanks so much for doing this!
I'll PM you my e-mail!
Thanks, Jessica (www.caringbridge.org/visit/jessicam
-
Sherry - give yourself the 30 a day and everything else will be bonus! (dont worry about breaking up the miles)
I went to bed at 8pm last night!! Thought for sure I could get to gym this am but nope. I am doing a yoga class tonight so I will try to get there a little early and do some treadmill time while I am there - yawn.
-
Right now I'm doing about 20 minutes most days, so I'm not in the contest
BUT
I'm your biggest cheerleader. And I hope to get to the point whre I can catch up with you.
Leah
-
Mary- Thanks for thinking of this. It already got me off my rear last night because I didn't want to miss my 30 minutes. Hopped on the elliptical and felt so much better after such a lazy vacation.
-
Wow !! just finished my first Wii work out ...I feel GREAT !! So cold here in Southern Ontario...Thx..EM ..ml C
-
Mary - thankyou thankyou. I actually went for a 35 minute walk yesterday after finding this thread. That is only the second bit of exercise since the beginning of September when I broke 3 bones in my foot. That is all healed, though I still have a bit of neuropathy from taxol. But I had my last radiation tx on December 31 and am ready to start afresh with a new year.
We have a Wii system, well, my son's really but before bc DH and I became addicted to Wii tennis. Now Wii tennis requires little physical effort on my part so I need to look at the Wii sports package.
-
Gill it's great to see another of the Triple J's posting here. I'm glad your foot has healed up now. Before my diagnosis I had started to get into the Wii, then I sort of lapsed with it. The lanes and pavements round here are still very icy so perhaps I should give the Wii another go instead of slipping and sliding when I try to go out for a walk.
-
Hi Jayne - I am hoping to get over to England sometime this year!
I guess I meant the Wii fitness package?
-
I am just booking my trip to London/Dublin with my older daughter who is graduating hs this year! You will have to give me all the cool places to go!
-
Just off for my morning walk. This is keeping me focussed. Not sure how you girls are doing it in the cold.
We are off to UK and Ireland again this year and hope to come through the US. Mary there is so much to see and do. I do love Dublin.
Alyson
-
Mary - i want to thank you for setting this up too - I really have been making an extra effort. Just did another 50min Wii Fitting this afternoon.
You will have an amazing time in London. Is it your first visit? I lived there many moons ago - 1989-93. I am sure so much has changed since then. Wish I could come with you!!
-
I hope we all (18 of us now!) stay motivated and strong all month long - I have great expectations for this year , for all of us!!!!
I have never been to London - my younger daughter and I went to Ireland last year. I am excited!
-
It's going to be the "Year of Us"!!
-
Just need to advise any of you who have never been to the UK that a "walk" is what we in North America consider a good hike. I just love walking in the English countryside, so don't miss that. And walks usually have great views, points of historical interest, and stopping points for lunch/tea or more substantial "refreshments".
Need to get back as well, but have a trip to Paris planned with my friend Nadine as milestone birthdays for both of us. Will be once I can drink wine again.
Meanwhile, am confined to the Seattle/Western Washington area until after radiation. But tons to do and explore here as well.
-
Our "walks" usually included a stop at the pub!!!
-
So, did a 30 min walk (a trudge as we have fresh snow, no plows yet!) then 15 min snow shovelling! Finally warmed up slightly.....
-
I did another spin class last night - i think i am addicted!!!!
-
Just got back from an hour at they gym - I'm lovin' it!!
