I need to buy some new fish oil supplements, as well as the higher dose Vit. D and a new multivitamin.  I've seen these brands in CVS and wanted to know if they are considered quality brands:  Nature's Way, Nature's Bounty, and Sundown.  They frequently have buy one, get one free sales, but not sure if it's a good idea to buy from there.   Are they good or should I buy from a health store or a Whole Foods type store.?

Rose - I think a good way to tell is when you take a look at the "other" ingredients. There is often a lot of junk thrown in some of these supplements.

I myself would not buy supplements from CVS or a supermarket. I buy from Whole Foods, my ND, Life Extension, Vitacost.com and Naturamart.com. I am careful to read the ingredients before I buy it. I learned this the hard way. I went back to look at the ingredients of a fish oil that I had purchased a while back - it had beef gelatin and some other funky ingredients. I ditched it for Spectrum fish oil (which I get at Whole Foods). No funcky ingredients!

I was doing same research a few weeks ago....found top-rated vitamins and supplements list on consumerlab.com.......This is toooo funny/wierd, just when I was going to tell you that "Nature Made" was very highly rated, a commercial (I have Good Morning America" on), and I am not kidding you...it was about "Nature Made" fish-oil!!!!...If that it not a sign, I don't know what is!!!!!......You  can also check out site of USP.org and check thier verified lists.....

deni, CVS had a high rating for thier own brand on consumerlab.com.....
