I just returned from my first PS appt.  I have decided to go with MX over Lump.  I have a droopy boobs.  My PS (who is supposed to be one of the best in TX) has recommended this:

1) put expander in bad breast (and do a lift on it at the same time.  Also lift the good breast now so that I match better for now.

2) then in about a month or so - I can decide to do Tram, DIEP,Latis or just put in implants.  This way he can adjust anything on my good boob when he is going in to finish the bad one.

He said this will give better results in the long run.  Thoughts?

You would be trading your saggy boobs for perky boobs that have no feeling. Just numbness. I would keep my saggy boobs in a minute if I could turn back time.

    Good luck to you.

I may be wrong but I thought the expander was only used if you are getting implants.  Not sure if it is used for the other procedures.  If you are not thinking about implants, expander can be very annoying and not something you need to be bothered with if you don't have to.  Like I said, I don't know too much about things other than the implants but don't know if expander is necessary for things like Tram and Diep.  Yes, Baywatcher is correct.  I had saggy boobs too and do like the look of my new perky ones, but I have no feeling in mine either.  I can understand your decision over mastectomy vs. lumpectomy.  I was in that same position and I went with the mastectomy too and never regretted my decision.  Just check if you need the expander if you decide to do one of the other things besides implants.  Good luck.

I think I am leaning more towards TE with liat.  So the expanders are already there when I need them.  But, if I do decide to do the tram or Diep -- he said the expanders are only there for a short time.  He will take them out right away.   He needed to put the expanders in for the lift to the breast seeing I am saggy and droopy.  Also, I am very saggy -- if I dont lift the good breast (just a normal lift job) then I wont match at all - one perky one, one saggy one.  I want them to match somewhat the best they can.  He would only put the implant in the bad breast.   My doctors does do the DIEP (he is one of only three in N TX that do it) and he would recommend that over TRAM to save the stomach muscle. -- just an FYI.
