Rash again, worried

In 2003 I was treated for breast cancer IDC.  I had a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation.  In May of this year I noticed a "rash" on the treated breast.  My oncologist looked at it and did not think it was IBC but he also wanted a dermatologist who deals with cancer to look at it.  Both doctors thought I should wait two weeks, if the rash did not clear they would do a biopsy.  My tumor markers were all normal.  The rash cleared and no biopsy was done.

Last week the rash returned.  I called the doctor and he was out for the holiday.  His nurse suggested I wait and if the rash did not clear come in to see the doctor.  The rash was first read and now it is purple.

I was wondering:  Can the rash associated with IBC appear and then disappear for six months?  I remember back in May the rash appeared after I was very active and last week with the holiday I did a great deal of housework, could the rash be related to this?

I am worried and confused.

    Hi Mkay;

    I know its confusing and our imagination will run wild..so please insist on being seen and make sure a doctor looks at the rash, especially if the colour has changed, and returned after six months . it may well be nothing to worry about, but you want to not stress about it over the holidays.
