I posted this on another thread but got a very low response so i am hoping for one or two that have gone down this road.

I am hoping to use Donor eggs to get pregnant, i just turned 36, i spoke to the liasion nurse the last day and she said to ask again in 12 months, but she is not too sure as it would envolve taking estrogen and progesterone to support the pregnancy but no stimulation of the ovaries which she looked at as a good thing. There main aim is to keep us cancer free so would have to wait 2 yrs from end of treatment next June as am on avastin trial if it is o.k. with the oncologist. I am trible negative so i dont understand why really. She double checked the histology report and i was 0% receptive for estrogen and progesterone, as she said some trible negative can be 1% receptive.

You may want to ask this question on the young survival boards. www.youngsurvival.org There are many on this site who have conceived after chemo and rads. Generally the most response is received on the General Board, although they do have pregnancy spacific boards as well. Hope this helps!

Hi hope 2, just thought I would let you know I got pregnant 3 years after my chemo with my second daughter, it has nearly been 20 years now since I had my bc. There is always hope, and if pregnancy fails there are always a lot of babies out there who need a mom. Hugs and good luck to you. Oh and I found calling the anti cancer society helpful when I wanted to ask the question too, they put me in touch with a lady who had twins after her bc, it helped me a lot to believe that it can happen. Want to let you know that I know of a woman who had a baby after chemo.  It was several years later, and she got pregnant unexpectedly.  If you are looking at using donor eggs, then you will not have any additional issues other than a non cancer patient really.  Kick starting the uterus is the easiest part of the equation.  If you are worried about the capacity to hold the pregnancy, that will probably not be an issue at all.
