My friends make me more depressed!!!!!

Options

I have been diagnosed around a month ago but i haven't had any surgery yet (hospital is really busy). My BS assured me that i don't have to worry about this delay because cancer is not going to spread suddenly, it must be there for years. So i was calm that everything is under control. But some of my friends don't have the same opinion. They think that they shouldn't delay my operation. One of them called me a few minutes ago and she made me really stressed. She was wondering how can i be so calm since i have this serious illness which can spread all over my body. I know they worry about me but i can't stand their attitude. I want to scream!!!

Hugs Zoe.....I know how you feel....They really have no idea what you are going through and don't have a clue what to say......Just reassure them that your doctors know what they are doing and you are in good hands.....It's hard whne you have to reassure others when you yourself is the one who is sick......Good luck to you and keep us posted......

    Thanks hollyann for your reply,

two of my friends make me really depressed so i try to avoid talking to them. I really feel better when i talk to people in this site because i think only people who had something similar can trully understand.

I had breast cancer 12 years ago.  I told very few people that I had it because I didn't need or want to hear people feeling sorry for me.  My husband told everyone however.  So I did have to put up with people asking me how I was doing.  One person in particular asked me how I was doing.  When I said fine, he said R--E--A--L--L--Y and really dragged it out.  This is a battle that you are in.  You will have to ignore other people if they are not on your program.  What I mean is that you will have to only listen to people that are on the same page as you are.  I had 3 surgeries.  2 were lumpectomies and the final was a mastectomy.  Some people did question the 2nd lumpectomy.
