Glad to see that Whitney is coming home!! Will continue to keep her, Coonie and families in my prayers!
-
Many MANY thanks to all of you again for your prayers.
Whitney made it home and was so glad to get a HOT bath

I've sent your comments to her and my sister. She met with the hospital Nutritionist and will have follow-ups with her medical team soon. She was feeling much better. It's so amazing to see prayers and well wishes coming from everywhere in the world!!!
What a BLESSING to be part of such a wonderful "sisterhood". I've mentioned to my sister it would be good if Whitney could find the same kind of support for teenage diabetes. Speaking for myself, it's encouraging to know there are others going through the same thing and REALLY understand and can share knowledge and support!!.......AND make some wonderful friends for life!!!

Coonie - so happy your niece is coming home and that she has a plan to follow with her medical team. That's awesome! I bet there are sites for teenagers with diabetes. I have been in the same position as you Coonie - my niece was born with serious heart problems. When she was a teenager she started drinking, smoking and doing drugs - a triple whammy for a heart patient! She came through it, thank the Lord.
Whitney - As Barbe mentioned I am a diabetic for about 25 years. It takes a lot of trial and error to get the whole thing right. I sometimes "preach" because I wouldln't want anyone to go through making the mistakes I made. You are so precious and so loved. We want you around for a very long time.
Faith - you said it better than I did! Bless you.

Coonie, I just found this thread....Whitney glad you are home and feeling better....I too am diabetic.....It is VERY important to check your sugar levels OFTEN....And to watch all your carb/sugar intake........I have only been diabetic for about 2 years and I still make mistakes and let my sugar get out of control......it is very hard to do but you CAN do it........I wish you the best of luck, Whitney.........God bless.......

Just wanted to report in that my sweet Whitney graduated from high school TONIGHT!!!!!
She's overcome many obstacles this year and I'm just soooooooo very proud of her.
Thank all of you for the continued prayers. She is managing her blood sugar better these days and even did her senior project on juvenile diabetes.
It was a happy happy occasion tonight!!!

Hugs to all of you!
