    Linda,

Hope your hubby is OK. Do you have skin mets? If so, what have you taken for them?

My biopsy came back positive for cancer. The PET didn't pick it up as it doesn't pick up anything smaller than 1 cm. The mets started to come back as soon as I finished radiation. Start on Avastin & Xeloda on Monday. Anyone out there had that combo??

I'll keep you both in my prayers and that your hubby heals quickly and has no more problems.

    All My Love,

    Lynn

Thanks for the well wishes - my husband is doing ok but very weak so I have to be with him whenever he needs to get up and walk around to make sure he doesn't fall.  He is starting physical therapy today - someone is coming to the house any minute so I am very busy taking care of him and everything else.

As far as I know I do not have any mets - last pet/ct scan was clean - was in November and was nothing to get alarmed about at my last exam by the radiologist and surgeon.  I looked at my incision after reading your posts and don't  see anything to like what you describe.  So sorry you are having to deal with this (crap).  I was stage III at diagnosis and the neo-adjuvant chemo was only about 50-60% effective according to the path report from the mastectomy - I still had 1 positive node out of 13 and quite a bit of the original tumor present - also they noted some vascular invasion as well as lymphatic vessel and neural (not sure what that means - nerves? or about the significance) invasion.  I had the Xeloda and Gemzar after the radiation treatments as a (hopefully) preventive measure.

Hope your treatments to ok - am interested in why they are giving you Avastin - are you HER2+?

Will be thinking of you even if I don't have time to check in

    All the best, Linda

    Hi Linda,

I am triple negative. Am on Avastin & Zeloda. The Xeloda made me so sick that we had to stop it yesterday and I will do it one week on and one week off. I felt like I was dying. Ended up in the infusio room yesterday on 2 hours of saline to get me hydrated again. Feel a little more alive today.

What info do you have about Avastin that you could sure with me. Have you ever taken it before. I only have the info they gave me on it and what I have researched on the internet. Had 2 seizures last night in bed, reported to the nurse today.

    Hugs,

    Lynn

    Lynn -

Just have a minute before the physical therapist for my husband gets here so my answer will be short.

I have not had treatment with Avastin - so sorry for all your problems with the treatments - hope you feel better soon (that sounds so lame for an answer but I really don't know anything more - sorry).  I also had to go to 1week on and 1 off with Xeloda because of white cell count plummeting (oncologists words)  - that did work better for me but I did have quite a bit of a problem with neuropathy.

Hope you are doing better soonKiss, Linda
