BCM to liver

THIS IS FOR MY MOM SHE WAS DIAG. WITH BC 4/08 HAD CHEMO AND RADIATION HAD A MASECTOMY AND 17 LYMPH NODES REMOVED.  WAS TOLD SHE HAD A VERY AGRESSIVE BC.  WAS JUST DIAG. 12/7/09 WITH METS TO LIVER A MASS 9.5 CM BY 8.3 CM  AND ADD'L LESIONS HAVE AN APPT. WITH ONC. 12/14/09 WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD ANY THOUGHTS OF WHAT WE SHOULD ASK DOCTORS WHAT TREATMENTS WOULD BE OFFERED WHAT TYPE OF THINGS WE NEED TO KNOW TO SEARCH FOR TREATMENTS.  JUST ANYTHING TO GET THE BEST FOR HER.  SHE IS 78 YEARS OLD AND IS VERY HEALTHY AND ACTIVE. THANKS

    I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's diagnosis.  I think the first thing you need to know is whether this is a recurrance and also if the hormone and her2 status are the same as the orignial bc. 

    This will have a large bearing on treatment and what is offered.  Avastin has had great success with some liver mets and I know many ladies who have done this treatment and the tumour's have shrunk.
