Hi friends

Zometa can give body aches so maybe this is the cause??
Can you see your onc any earlier to arrange a scan??
I'm sorry you're still worried but I've had persistant back ache since Sept, I don't know what it is as yet but have had bone scan, mri and pet and got the all clear this week.
Try to have a scan asap to put your mind at ease and thinking only good thoughts for results for you:)

Thanks for ur reply Tricia, I am going to call him on friday..see what he says..i had a lot body pains after zomata...then it all resolved in a month...I cannot wait much anyway...as my hip hurts pretty bad...I do have bad feeling about this....hope i am wrong...

Shejoh, I know how you feel as my pain was pretty constant for all that time and still have it!
I think once you know it's not cancer it obviously becomes easier to deal with, so finding out and dismissing this is the main concern.
I ahte this disease gives us so much worry!

i talked to my oncologist..he said first we have to rule out whether the pain is caused by tamoxifen or zolodex, or may be bursitis? So he asked me to stop tamoxifen for a wk and see the pain is better..if not try same with zolodex, if still hurts, the bone scan has to be done...so I am told to take aleve for questionable bursitis...so lets see what happens...

shejoh:
I had severe hip pain to the point that I shifted all my weight to the good leg when climbing stairs. I was terrified and nearly made myself sick because I was so afraid it was cancer spreading. Finally wen to the primary and had the tests and it was bursitis. I went to a physical therapist for six sessions and I am painfree. It is good you are going as it is awful to worry...especially when it is not cancer! I wish you well.

I have had severe hip pain for about 7 months. After a few Drs...one orthopedic told me I need a hip replacement which I am having done next week. Xrays, MRI and CT scan show no mets!!
Good luck to you'............hugs and prayers

Thanks for ur replies...I am going to oncologist on dec 10th...I have developed a lot pain in spine too...But I do have chronic back pains...but pains are usually associated with muscle spasm, and I cannot turn to sides...this timeit just hurts on the spine and it doesn't go away...anyway..life goes on....will discuss these concerns with onco...my hip pain is better...although there is a dull ache...but bearable...i feel my whole body is turned into a pain machine...hopefully its just a phase which will pass soon...

Shejoh, wishing you luck for your onc appointment tomorrow. Do let us know.

Thanks for your wishes friends..I went to oncologist today..he wants me to do x ray hip, whole spine, ct scan of chest and a lot of blood works including tumor markers. he does think all these pain has something to do with spine..then I also went to neorologist...he said definitely something wrong in the cervical spine(neck area)..as my reflex check was abnormal..it could degenerative changes,or may be bulge, herniation and then possibility of mets is not excluded. he ordered MRIs of lower spine and neck.. so i have a lot of testing to do next week. he gave me lyrica and flexeril for pain..although I don't want to take anything unless there is excruciating pain...
will update with the progress
happy holidays everyone

Shejoh, glad to know there is a plan in progess.
I cancelled my hip surgery. My PCP doesn't agree that I need it. I went for another opinion and the new Dr says it is a labral tear. I now have to go for a bone scan and another type of scan. Let us keep each other informed.
Have a good day

Hi candie
My MRI report for neck shows some cord compression which is the cause of pain in my back and around that area. lower spine is MRI is normal..
But the Big surprise is my BREAST MRI. it shows a mass in my chest wall area..very suspecious for malignancy. Its under the left breast. originally I had rt breast cancer...
tomorrow going to follow up with oncology and surgeon...
now my hip pain, I feel very suspecious too...as spine is not causing the pain...hopefuly they will do a pet scan to rule out mets....

Shejoh, I'm sorry you have this new worry to contend with but agree on getting all the tests you can to determine what you're dealing with.
Just a point on the pet/ct, I just had one which was negative but the radiologist now wants a bone biopsy done so my celebration did'nt last long:(
I've agreed to it as the mri was inconclusive and the bone scan showed one area of concern. I never realized an actual diagnosis would be such hard work!
Good luck and wishes to you, and I really hope this new mass is a harmless cyst or some other benign cause.

Shejoh, just wondering how you are doing today. Good luck at the onc and surgeon.
Tricia, when will you have the biopsy.
Today I go for an MRI with dye injected into the hip joint. I have a lil anxiety going on. will be in touch.
hugs and prayers,
Candie
