Looking good Apple! Sounds like your brain is looking good too Michele! Let us know when you get the comfirmation!
-
Apple you are right my hair looks like yours
Michele~ thinking about you. Is this your planned scans ??
Supposed to be cleaning but I need to get motivated. Our tree is going up tonight and I am taking pictures of my kids near the tree. I will also be headed to the hospital sometime in the next 24 hours before my neice delivers so I can be there for the delivery. I am very nervous for her and I hope everything goes VERY smooth.
Off to go get ready for all of these activities. So if I am missing I am okay just BUSY
-
normal brain
thanks everyone, for holding my hand.
(yes, this was a regular scan)
-
Yay Michele, glad to hear the good news!
Apple and Jaimie: you both look wonderful! It's so funny how we all look so similar in the hair department, lol.
Artemis: you should join Facebook...it's a lot of fun....and addicting, lol. I was surprised also at how many people from the old days I have been able to connect with, as well as most of the Furies, too!
Today is my cancerversary....been a long hard year. I'm looking forward to relaxing over the holidays, since last year's was so messed up. I've spent the week doing some major cleaning and decluttering (I throw things away while DH is working up north, lol, otherwise he interferes and rescues everything from the trash). I'm just sitting here now, by the tree, with my coffee, my laptop, and my feet up.
Ok, gotta start thinking about dinner, so I'll talk to you all later
-
beautiful tree!
-
OK, tree picture not showing up for me.....
Michele - again, thrilled for you!
Edited to add - i can see it now.
-
omgosh. i am so far away from having a tree.
-
Your tree is beautiful. Wish I could get into the mood to get my boxes dug out, but just can't get there. Have you had snow in MI yet? Or anywhere? We were to get flurries according to the weather report, but didn't. Congrats on your good news, Michelle. Apple....hair looks really good.
-
Hi Mary, no snow yet, but we're supposed to get a few inches on Wednesday....of course, hubby will be out of town, so I get to shovel it all!
I thought that tree pic was kinda cool because the lights were reflecting in all the windows, lol, I don't usually take very good pics so I was surprised it turned out like it did.
I'm watching "The Lottery changed my Life".....I wish! Can you imagine winning millions of dollars....man, that would be awesome. I rarely buy lottery tickets though.
-
The problem is it seems like so many people who hit it rich don't end up doing good things with it. They squander it and then end up in worse shape than they were. Did the show you were watching have happy endings? I like happy endings. I am always hoping for good things for you and Julia and your family when I read your posts.
-
I agree Mary....some of the people had bad endings after winning--divorce, drugs, going broke. But many did just fine. Maybe it depends on how happy you are before you win the money....
Julia is still in the hospital. She had 2 or 3 different bacteria in her blood. The poor thing, they can't even find a usable vein for her IV, and yesterday it took 3 nurses and 2 anesthesiologists (sp?) to finally find one in her foot. they are hoping to put her Picc line back in today, and that will help alot. She should be home tomorrow or Wed.
gotta run
-
Morning all.
Judy - so sorry to hear Julia is still in hospital. I can imagine it is the last place she wants to be, especially at this time of the year. Oww for all the needles. really hope she is home with you today.
Not much new here. Got our tree up yesterday, it was also Angus' work Kids Christmas party, which is always fun and really well done. Kids got to see Santa - i am uploading the photos now, so will post one when I have it.
Bit warmer out there today!
-
Here is the kids Santa Photo....
-
What a lovely picture Kerry!
A boring day here....did a little shopping this morning, but pooped out pretty quickly. Not sure why though. Thank god I can do some shopping online, lol. Managed to find new cellphones for the family (we were all due for upgrades, but still couldn't afford the phone we wanted). I discovered amazonwireless, and only paid a penny for the same phone tmobile wants 50 bucks for. Yay!
So I guess it's back out to the stores tomorrow. I think Julia will be coming home tomorrow, too...they got her picc line back in, and started her TPN again. It's been a very quiet week around here, lol
-
fingers crossed for Julia!
-
Judy~ I hope they get Julia back up and better soon. Poor girl has been thru so much....
Did pictures this morning of my new nephew but I think it is going to take another session at least. Baby while absolutely adorable was not having any part of me today. He is still in the I do not know what I want stage. I am loading pictures now.
My oncologist appt. went pretty well the other day. Oncologist says besides me feeling dizzy he does not feel that it has anything to do with BC he thinks I have sinus issues ....SO I have herceptin Monday morning followed by an ENT doctor. My oncologist did offer to do a brain MRI but I really do not want another needle for contrast.
So I found out what my DH bought me for Christmas by accident. The company sent the shipping informaiton out to me today. So I got a new toy on it's way... Now I just have to wait. Not ready besides that for Christmas. We have 2 parties this weekend for my DH's work and then a family party the following week.
I am still in the process of trying to get organized for my trip to NOLA. I would like to leave my house completely put together so when I come back I will not have to be stressed about my house. I'm not sure it's going to happen but I am giving it hell trying to get things organzied.
I also worked almost all day on Sunday and I came home exhausted. I finally feel like I am feeling a little bit recovered after a day of pictures and kids. Anyhow now I start with the infants..lol...
-
It sounds like everyone is doing well! Judy~ I hope that Julia perks up soon. You must be so worried.
News from here: my PET was clear!
So, one less worry. I'm having some family stresses. BC can really bring out the worst in people (myself included). Things have been tough.
On a lighter note, Bradley was a member of the "Court" for the Toy Bowl. He was a knight and his date was a maid. Here's a pic of me and Bradley and another one of him and his date.
-
Thanks guys, but no Julia yet....they're keeping her yet another night, she has a low-grade fever, so NOW they decide to do a flu test (U of M would've done that the first day just to rule it out). So she's very crabby and irritated and just wants to come home. Shooting for tomorrow
Jaimie: glad to hear your appt went ok. Hey, don't leave us hanging...what's your present??? lol
Michele: nice pics, your son looks very handsome (a date??? how old is he? lol) What is a Toy Bowl? I cannot believe your hair...you are so lucky, no curls??? It is so long, too. You look great. I hope your family issues get resolved soon : (
I have an appt tomorrow with the clot specialist. She will hopefully order a CT to see if my clot is gone, and then decide if I can go off the coumadin. She will also be giving me her opinion on the risk of more clots if I have reconstruction. I am very interested to see how this appt goes.
The winds here are crazy....up to 50mph gusts. My christmas decorations are blowing around, and I'm not fixing any of it until this wind is done with.
-
Oh Judy I am getting a light meter for work
Electronic fun for me
Okay I got my pick me up today for just a little bit. I will be getting more this week.
This is baby Maciek (my great nephew) who is weighing in at a whooping 5lbs 8oz. I love that baby smell......
-
Judy~ He's 13 but it isn't really a "date". However, the boys escort the girls and present them to the Arch Bishop. The "Toy Bowl" is a fundraiser for CYO sports. The "Bowl game" is the 8th grade football final. To be part of the court, the kids had to raise $500. Then there was a banquet, a special mass, and the presentation ceremony at the game. (There was a dance too but it was casual and they didn't have to go as "dates".) It was a big ordeal but he had lots of fun.
-
Jaimie - those photos are lovely. He is adorable. Lucky you getting a new toy for Christmas. My husband showed me the camera he "would" have bought me if we had more money....ah, well, maybe next year! I really want a digital SLR...
Michele - you really are looking wonderful. Your hair looks so nice - do you get it styled? I too am dealing with the curls. And speaking of hair, I had a funny chat with a neighbourhood woman the other day (clearly had no idea about the BC) - she said "I have to say your hair is looking lovely. When you first got it cut, I thought, wow, thats a bit extreme, but it looks so nice now. You are lucky to have such naturally curly hair, I wanted a perm but it was going to cost me $100" I felt like saying well, mine only cost me a boob, 2 Ovaries, probably $100,000 in drugs, and oh, yeah, a lifetime of worry. Lucky indeed! Your son looks so much like you!
Judy - oh, you and Julia must be very frustrated. Hope they get to the bottom of things fast so she can get home with you all. Good luck with your appt today, hope you get good news!
Well, stormy as anything out there this morning. Managed a bit of a walk this morning, but it was very slippery and icy. But, at least it is starting to feel a bit more like Christmas.
Have a great day!
-
Michele: I thought he looked around the same age as my son....I know my daughters were 'dating' at 13, but my son has no interest in dances, etc. I think he is just too self-conscious right now. The Toy Bowl sounds like quite the big deal, how exciting that he was in the court!
Jaimie: ooohh, new toys are always exciting! I'm getting a new cell phone, and it's sitting here in a box, and I wanna use it so badly, but it will be a gift from one of my kids so I can't open it til Christmas! The baby is just so adorable, look at that baby-fine hair....I can't remember the last time I held a baby, someone around here (not my daughters, lol) needs to have a baby. My niece in PA just had a baby, but too far away! You do wonderful work, by the way!
Kerry: My daughter wants an SLR....they are sooo expensive, I agree! You're brave going out in the cold for a walk...it's like 6 degrees out there with the wind chill, I'm staying indoors today! Well, except for the doc appt that is.
-
MIchele~ Congratulations to your son. You must be proud of him.
Thank you for all of the photo compliments. I love the baby smell.....
Kerry~ What SLR did your DH tell you he wanted to buy you ?? They are expensive but I love mine so much. It was acting up yesterday so I need to see what is going on with it. I am really spoiled but since I do Weddings I have a couple for backups. So if you ever go to buy one ask me first and I can tell you the good and bad about them.
I really have to start and finish Christmas shopping. I am hoping that during next week I can get it done in a couple of days and then starts the wrap a thon. My back is already dreading it. Monday I have to go get herceptin followed by an ENT appt. for my light headed feeling. I am really hoping it is just something in my ear that is out of wack and is a simple fix. I am tired of being in pain with each test that comes along.
-
It was a Nikon, not sure what model. Looked nice though....I have a Canon Powershot now, which is pretty good, but it is getting old, is only 5 megapixels, which was huge when we bought it. reallky would love an SLR, I have an old film one which I used to love.
I am done all my shopping! I am about 1/2 way through wrapping.
-
Wanna come shop for me Kerry
I am waiting until next week...I am being lazy.
I shoot with Canon products but I love the way the Nikons sound and feel but I have too much Canon gear to switch now.
-
Hi everyone! It's been a long time. I have been on facebook alot. Some of you are there, too! I have stepped back from BCO. Too much to keep up with! I love each and every one of my Furies! see ya on facebook!
-
Jaimie, you make me feel sooo much better....I'm not the only one who is lazy about shopping for xmas, lol...
Hi cheryl!
I have a job enrollment meeting today....so I can sub in a different district. Had to take 6 online training modules last night on things like Hazardous materials (???), sexual harrassment in the workplace, allergens, and bloodborne pathogens....ugh. Took forever. After this meeting, I should be able to work in 3 nearby districts, I need a break from the one I currently work at.
Have a good Monday!
-
uggghhh... work issues today. <sigh>
I'm leaving early to have my seroma drained. Jaimie~ Do you still have fluid build up?
I'm glad to see that everyone is doing well.
xxoo, Michele
-
