Hair growth from bald to 32 weeks

Hopefully this brightens someone's day or gives hope or lets someone know what to expect for hair in the future.  My 11-year old son took my picture every week for 8 months from near bald (5 weeks post chemo) to some crazy chemo curls at 32 weeks PFC.   I got the idea because I couldn't find anything that gave me an idea of what to expect at 12 weeks (we had a wedding to attend--wore the wig for the last time!)

    That is FABULOUS!

    My hair hurts so mine will go soon - I'll show this to my son, maybe he'll do the same.

    I know this probably won't be popular - but you look freaking adorable with short hair.  If I had your face and amazing cheekbones and could rock that look, I'd leave it short.  :)  

    I have no chin and buck teeth though.  Hair loss ain't gonna be pretty on me, lol. Laughing

    That was wonderful - thanks so much for sharing it! Although I didn't go bald from my "light" chemo, my hair did thin considerably, especially on top - and it seems to be getting even thinner due to the Arimidex. Your hair looks so thick and gorgeous - kudos to your son for his great photography! Smile

    ChiaLinda, just love it!!  I finished chemo at the end of Feb. and my hair is soooo curly, just seems to curl more as it grows in.  This is great!!  You look awesome.  Thanks for sharing!!

    ChiaLinda that is really great, and very inspirational!  Thank you so much for sharing!  I finished chemo Aug 3rd, and don't feel that far along for 16 weeks.  They say at some point the hair really "takes off".  When did you feel like it did for you?  Was your hair straight before chemo?  Mine was stick straight, I'd like to have a little curl Smile, it seems still too short to tell!

    Wow -- you looked beautiful when was really short, and stayed beautiful as it grew!  Thank you for posting this -- it will be very encouraging for everyone just starting chemo and wondering about hair.  Don't you just love how it feels once it starts curling on top -- just like a poodle puppy's curls, so soft.  My hair has never looked so good since I've had chemo.  it used to be so thin and stringy, now it's thick and wavy -- a GOOD SE of chemo.

    BTW -- Mine was sloooow coming in, much slower than other women's.  It really started to fill out 4-5 months out.

    It seems like it really started growing in October.  Chemo was Feb./Mar.   I'm a teacher (ROCORI High School) and was glad it was long enough to go without a wig when this school year started, although one boy did ask me if it was a wig.

    My hair is normally stick straight.  I had perms in high school that they left on the maximum time to get any kind of curl and now this!  I've had to seek advice from curly friends.  It seems like it might be straightening a bit.  It is really thick and soft--I don't think I'm shedding at all except my eyelashes seem to grow really long then fall out together.  Hopefully the growth cycle will stagger a bit.

    WinkThank you so much for this encouragement. My hair started coming out after about 2 1/2 weeks and I have 1 more chemo treatment to go. It will be on December 30, I hope to have some hair by this spring or summer. The wigs itch so much.
