CALLING ALL STAGE I SISTERS

Thank you, Sheila. I did have a lumpectomy. I just felt so pathetic sprawled on the sidewalk in London with my arm and my breast hurting like the "dickens," pardon the pun. My arm swelled a bit, so naturally I worry about lymphedema from the trauma. Also, the Arimidex has me concerned about bone loss. I never broke anything besides a toe before. I take lots of calcium and Vit D3. I'll see what the doctor says when I get home. Maybe I need a bone scan.
Anyway, thanks for your good wishes.

gwerfil...I also had a lumpectomy and after the radiation treatments were over. i went on my knees and started to scrub the floor, the and of the day I was in so much pain. I called the DR, he sent me for Xrays, like you said I couldn't take a deep breath it was hurting so much.
Thank God nothing was broken but I have been told to take it easy and took Advil for few days.
Yours was an accident, mine was pure stupidity.

Meece..I like it with the lights on. So we both decided to become trees for the month of December. LOL
-
Yes, I like it with the lights on,too. It really isn't as bright in person as it appears. I have several Christmassy pictures I can use this month. I like to be able to have some controlin my life...at this moment, it's being able to control my avatar.
-
I like both your Christmas trees and your Holiday spirit!
-
And now for the weather, sorry Elimar, we had 40/100 of rain today. For you in the North or East that sounds like a mist, but for here, the aveage annual precipitation is 6.49 inches, so getting nearly 6% of it in 14 hours is a deluge!
-
WOW!!! We got six inches of rain the beginning of November! I hope it clears up for you! It's still FREEZING here and it's going to stay that way!
-
We need the rain. California is in a government induced drought, so anything that comes naturally is weel appreciated.
-
I could ship you some snow!
-
Okay, I'll let it melt and water my green house plants.

Hello ladies,
Went to lymphedema therapy today, still having some back pain so going to my dr tomorrow to be sure there is nothing else "going on"... WHY do I have to have this symptom right now, everything was going so perfect... and that scar tissue is still so hard I heard I am in the 5 -10% of patients! Again, WHY!!! URRGGHHH!! I get so frustrated, because otherwise I fell so HEALTHY! I am just being paranoid, I just need the dr to tell me soo.... or perhaps a bone scan!
I just feel the back issue so much with a 2 1/2 year old baby I carry so much!
-
Good thoughts to all...I need to rest before I meet the new girls tommorro. Hope they like their new home without too much fuss. I also hope they will not be to high maintence. LOL

gcarter....we will be thinking about you while you are adopting your girls.
-
Nicole112: What kind of exercises are you doing in lymphedema therapy?
-
Nicole you are healthy, its just that we always think every little, big pain or any discomfort is related to BC. I went through a similar experience couple of months back when I had constant pain in my affected breast. Probably I was poking so much that didn't help either.
My Oncologist said that pain is not BC related. to cut the long story short, it turned out to be nothing and went away, but nerves suffered a lot.
I get angry sometimes because I relate everything to BC. ( I know I'm not the only one )
And don't call yourself names. We love you and care for you.♥

Thanks Sheila, I have calmed down a bit... I just hate that we have to second guess EVERYTHING!
gcarter- good luck tommorrow! Please share how it goes!
-
Glad you calmed down my sister.
-
Hey, Nicole, how did the Christmas tree quest go Sunday?
I am allergic to real ones, so my quest goes as far as the storage unit to get the box.
-
Love your tree, Meece! And, Sheila, yours too!!
My friend who hit the horse is doing well. Had drains removed from her head, had minor surgery to close the head wound & is very, very sore. She is very lucky, the car is totaled & she had to be removed by the EMTs. Killed the horse!
I have to decorate my house yet, but the tree is up, so need to get the ornaments on it. Didn't decorate much last year, so really feel the desire to do it this year. I always put up Department 56 villages & since I didn't do that last year either, they are out now & look lovely. I like to sit in the dark & look at the little houses lit up & the little people "going their merry way." LOL
Will be thinking of you tomorrow, Gina. You'll be home before you know it with your new "girls".
Nicole ~ Will be thinking good thoughts for you tomorrow as well.
gwerfil ~ Gees, what a fall you took! I hope you feel better soon.
Good night dear sisters!
{{hugs}}

Nicole, I don't know how I missed your post inviting me to meet at a winery. I think one of these days that might be fun. After the hubbub of the holidays is over. Nut I have been looking for an excuse to head up your way. In fact we were planning on our anniversary this past summer heading up that way, but an opportunity to go to Hawaii came up, so we cancelled our plans.
So, red wines or whie wines, ladies?
-
Hi Meece, I love a good Pinot Noir, or Chard!!! After the holidays we can meet, for sure:)
Thanks Sheila for the follow-up, just need to get the jitter bugs out... and truthfully this back pain has been classified as truncal lymphedema already... but like the typical bc survivor I am skeptic...because they never did the bone scan I am always suspicious.
Valjean- So sorry to hear about this accident, it is a lot more serious than I thought in your post, I hope your friend has a speedy recovery!!!!
-
Meece... Which island of Hawaii did you go?
Im sure I mentioned it before my younger daughter and her boy friend moved to OAHU past January. You got me all excited now.
Valerie.. that sounds like a very peaceful and happy decoration.
Glad your friend is doing better. Take a picture of this decorations. Wed like to see it if its okay with you of course.
-
After the holidays it is. Cab Sauv is probably my favorite, Pinot Noir...Port.
Valjean, glad your friend is doing better. Sorry about the horse and car. She is actually lucky she made it.
-
Good Wishes to all my sisters who they are having surgery, test and everything else tomorrow. It will be a busy day..
-
Carrie Underwood puts me in my hapy place, just watching her special and listening to her song, Jesus Take the Wheel... she is B-A-Utiful and fun! Now Dolly Parton is on, love these ladies!
Meece, we have a date, and a lot to celebrate after the holidays!
-
I got to go see Carrie in concert in July. She is a beautiful entertainer. She dresses like a lady as well. She wasn't slutty looking at all. I love "Jesus, take the Wheel."
Yes, we do have a lot to celebrate. Today, tomorrow, the next. . . . .
-
Nicole I didnt know she was on. I caught the last 7 minuted of it. Hoping some other channel will repeat it. Yes Carrie Underwood and Jesus take the Wheel is one of her beautiful songs. I don't know if you watch American Idol...But the year I was DX I was voting for her until the end.
I even told my friend if they kept me in the hospital that night to vote for her. But I was able to make it home on time, I was rushing BS to release me before 8. You brought back memories.
-
Ah Sheila, what are you doing awake
Are you a night owl?
Carrie Underwood had a wonderful ending performance! She is just so good, and I agree with Meece she is anything from slutty which you would sterotype any beautiful blonde to be!
Okay ladies, going to bed... thank you for keeping my anxiety at bay, I will fill you in to what the dr has to say tomorrow.
Night night, by the way it is said to be the coldest night in my area... we had snow for the first time in a decade last night.. going to be a repeat tonight ! White Christmas, bring it on, I welcome it!
-
Wow, Nicole, snuggle under tha blankets and enjoy the snow. Heading to bed myself. Good night all.
-
Yes Nicole Im a night owl. Its only 1.05AM
I promise this is the last picture Im posting before I annoy you people. Sorry.
