    Mine are 14 and 11.  I'd like to ship the 14 year old off to................California!  Both of my kids are boys.  I could use some girl time too.  Maybe it's just you and me that should get together!  Sorry to hear about the SD, I hope she comes around soon.  It;s tough for everyone.  Hang in there.  My DH has a prob w/ his dad since he just married for the 3rd time, someone who is a year older than him (my DH).  He has a prob with his step mom being his age.

    Let's have a girls retreat.  I have three grown boys. 

    SD is in no mood to come around.  She is nearly 27 yrs old.  First time she met me, DH and I were watching a movie at his place, and she met me and announced that"they" would never be able to watch movies again. She has said things like Christmas isn't fair because my boys might get more than she does.  This is after DH spent  over twice as much on her as any of the boys including her brother.  She told me she would be able to get her dad to do what she wants once she has kids.  Well she had one and it didn't help.  She is a pathaogical liar, and lies about the most unimportant things as well as the big stuff.  She has issues and I tried for three years, then I disengaged.

    Whoops, get I needed to vent.  Ommmmmmmmmmmmm I am finding my happy place.

    I know what you mean!!  Vent away.  I get that way sometimes when I speak about my FIL.  I sure do hope your SD come around soon.  It sucks when family doesn't get along.

    Dh is an early to bed person to, lucky for me.  But our idea of sleeping in is 6 or 6:30 on the weekend.

    Good morning ladies, I survived! The girls are still sleeping and I had the opportunity to clean the house, I can be a tad OCD at times :) So, parents will be picking them up at 10AM, my thought is, let them sleep until then:)

    Okay, so I learn more from you ladies today..

    Cake and Meece, I had no idea why some woman had so man y nodes removed and I had the sentinel node only... I recall getting the dye injected prior to my lumpectomy and lymph node dissection... is this the dye you are referencing?? I just remember my surgery ended up being 2 hours longer as my surgeon was having "trouble" finding the sentinel node... hence, perhaps, part of ther eason I suffer from lymphedema today.

    Have a great Sunday ladies, off to get the Christmas tree. Thank goodness I have more energy this season... and cake, I have been quite the spender this past year... don't laugh but remember I just shared with you I am a bit OCD, so last year, after I finished all my treatments, I booked three vacations for 2009- 2010... We are going to Cabo San Lucas in May; Cancun in October and Disneyworld will be near Christmas... my hubby said slow down!!!!! I booked the trips which include some family and friends, I just like having a "full" calendar... but I will agree with hubby, I went a little over the top.

    He won't be complaining when we are on those holidays!... Now, I just have to figure out how to pay for them! All are paid for except the airfare, which turns out to be the most expensive portion for a family of 4!

    Just getting caught up on your conversation... remember I said I love to travel, what the heck,. I'll put another event on the calendar, we could all use a retreat! Meece, you are so close, we could meet at a winery! :)

    Nicole,

    Yes, that is the dye.  The are so many regions of lymph nodes in the body, several in the armpit area.  Perhaps your surgeon distrubed some of the others. Or, he just irritated the axiliary ones by digging around looking for the sn. .  I have been told that you have 20-30 axillary nodes, that's why the more you have taken out, the more likely you are to experience lymphodema.  I have never had a full blown episode, but I know how a little one can hurt.  My friend has had BC twice and she swears by water therapy for lymphodema.  Something about physical therapy in a swimming pool.

    Good day sistas,

    Here in MA we had a few inches of snow and it really looks pretty on the pine trees.

    When lymph nodes are removed it is almost like a dam because the lymphatic fluid is blocked, that is why you have to be very careful and try not to get scratchs or BP's even needles on that side can cause infection.  I don't know what happens when someone has a double mast.

    Seyla I'm in Northern Westhcester County - been here for 6 years and LOVE it!Our first snowfall of the year came last night - the trees are GORGEOUS in white! Cool

    Welcome nmi - I wanted to tell you I went to an opthamologist at my gf's recommendation (she was a Stage 1 survivor 10 years ago) - I never knew that BC could spread to the eyes! My exam was fine - but here's a link to information concerning bc mets to the eyes:

    Makraz, I marched in 4 or 5 of those over the years.  One year 34 degrees, one year 70 degrees.

    I'm taking a break from a cleaning frenzy.  That all has to get done today, so I can get the decorations out of the closet tomorrow.  I'm not really that late, am I?

    Well if you are late ...................... so am I. Put the tree up in the living room today but it needs to be decorated along with the rest of the house..........will get to that later today....or tomorrow.

    oh my goodness, I have missed so much over the past few days. You ladies are a joy.

    I am in MA and we did get some snow. It is prettttty darn chilly, too! I had a big tree hit my house last year at this time, Makraz will remember, and had a guy in the house for oh, several months, fixing ceilings. So I have been painting walls and woodwork and never find that too much fun but once everything is all done and cleaned up, I must say it looks good. 

    I had bilateral mx and they were checking my BP on both arms while in the hospital. I also have labs drawn from either arm. No lymphodema, thank heavens. I missed out on the blue pee after the SNB as I had a catheter for a day or so and never saw anything but YELLOW in the bag.

    going for supper at my bro's. PORK FEST. Later, Sue

    Sue, last year was the worst year!! With those early storms and black outs! Now we just have about 4 inches of snow and it looks pretty.  Soon it will be brown and yucky from traffic.

    The parade was fun.  I think this is the 10th year I have done it, between my two boys.  Luckily we live in a very small town and the parade is over if you blink!

    Hmmmm.  I baked today, but it was another t-shirt day.  I think it was around 65 degrees.  I felt like going out and gardening, but the baking needed to be done.  DH worked out by our pond and was breaking a sweat wearing a t-shirt and short pants.

    Sunday has been very enjoyable.

    In NY it was a hat and gloves day. But I accomplished a lot today.

    Burrrrrr.  I am gonna go soak in a warm tub.  I have yet to get my greenhouse totally winterized, but it is 5 pm and the greenhouse is 55 degrees right now.  It has been getting down to 31 at night lately.

    I have a variety of things.  I start vegetables in January, from seed.  But I overwinter my succulents and desert plants.  I also have tropicals.  I have strawberries in there year round.  It is my playhouse.  Or actually, my therapy.  I can lose myself in there for hours on end.
