How much radiation are you getting?

When I met with my radiation oncologist for the first time this past Wednesday he told me that he normally prescribes 60G's for his breast cancer patient's but due to my misfortune... my breast surgeon only got a 1mm clear margin he would be giving me 72.4G's and I would get 38 or so treatments.  As you can see by my signature I am only a stage 1a and had well differentiated edges and no node involvement.  I am really concerned about getting a stronger dose of radiation and so many treatments.  Has anyone else experienced this type of situation and how did you do?

Thanks Renee

I just started this week (look at post for "Trilogy Radiaion System vs Older Generation System", I just posted my 3 first days of experience..I am suppose to get 5 weeks with last week being boosted to just lumpectomy area....Ask questions and then make sense of them with anything they want you to do....good luck

Don't be afraid to get a 2nd & 3rd opinion before moving forward with this doctor.  That would be my best advice.
