Trilogy Radiation Sytem vs Older Generation Systems
After reading topics on rad treatment the last 2 months in preparation for mine starting yesterday, I am wondering what differences women have experienced using the "Trilogy (newer, state of art radiation system vs the older sytems)..I had my first Trilogy treatment yesterday and was surprised when after holding my breath about 5 times for the tech, they said "okay you are done!", I was done in about 5-7 minutes!...I thought the treatments would be at least 15-20 minutes...I even asked "are you sure?".....Have any of you used the system for your treatments and for you that used older systems what you're experiences?,,,So we can compare as to see if the Trilogy would cause less pain/burn and after effects as so many of you have experienced...I will keep posting on this site to update my experiece, I have 29 more treatments to go!!..That way if it would help others to seek out this system for thier future benefit...thank you

Second day of treatment, I was introduced to new tech, seemed like they were training her...I was reluctant for her to be at controls, but since the other tech was there, thought it would be fine...Unlike 1st fast treatment, there was about a 3-4 min delay in middle of treatment..My third day (yesterday) the new tech was telling the experienced tech to go on to lunch that she could handle it..I questioned him leaving with someone that appeared to be in training...They and she (new) assured my she was qualified, this is a new machine and I wanted to make sure she was familier with it...She said she had 30 years experience and assured me that she was more than capable..She went out and I heard the radiation sounds 3 times and I said very loudly " shouldn't you be telling me to hold my breath during the rounds of rads (as I was told to do the 1st two days) the other tech must have heard me and came and said hold your breath, I did and then I heard another long rad beam without being told again to hold my breath (how could this happen again??? ) and this time I yelled, I thought I was suppose to hold my breath!!!..The new tech replied "maybe something is wrong with the mic, I said no there wasn't that I did not want her to continue with me and to get me off the table....I was livid!!!..This happened even after I asked and was assured that she was qualified....I asked to see my Rad onco and that I would never allow this unqualified person to do my rads again...My Rad and her assistant apologized and assured my that the extra radiation that I got would not have any long term effect at all...{I have been radiated from way too many tests in the last months and do not want one extra or wrong treatment)...they spent about 20 minutes with me trying to calm me down...They assured me that she (new tech) would not be the one treating me, I already knew this because I will not let her...From now on after they ask me my birthdate (to make sure I am me every treatment) I will be asking "how many rounds of rads and who will be doing them?..We all have to stand up and not accept such careless treatment....Sorry this is so long, I just needed to get it out....thank you

Thanks ivorymom, I did get that explanation from my Rad onco yesterday...But when I asked her am I suppose to hold my breath everytime or not?..She said yes!!...So I said "so she (new tech) did it wrong" she answered yes...I have done alot of research on the "Trilogy", I just can't seem to get many replies of others that have or are being treated by it to compare experiences....
