MACNMEDD,
Here are a few links, and I know there are many naturopaths who do prescribe BHRT, but from what I have read, in my humble opinion, I feel the antiaging specialists are who you want to see. My daughter goes to one in Pittsburgh, and he is fairly new in this field, and she does not feel he has the expertise of those like Dr. Uzzi Reiss in Beverly Hills, and also those interviewed in the book(s) Ageless and Knockout. California seems to have the majority of antiaging specialists, who have been in this field for many years. Taking just progesterone cream alone is not what these docs recommend, as all your hormones need to be balanced. If one is not balanced...they are all off. The Knockout book has a list of all the doctors that Somers recommends.

Hey, Nan, please hang out here more. We need more organization and links about bioidenticals. I've been on bioidenticals too. Progesterone, estradiol and testosterone. I got tested. What a difference getting balanced meant to my life. I didn't know I felt so "off" for so long until I was back "on." Bioidenticals will play a part in the oncology of the future, I'm sure. It sure is hard waiting for the future to come
Really interesting about your daughter's neuropathy being helped. Did she rub cream right on her hands and feet?

Lucy,
First of all, thank you for the invite! I have tons of links for many alternatives/complimentary meds.
No Lori did not rub the cream on her hands and feet. In fact when she first started using the bios, she made the mistake of rubbing them on her neck. WRONG!! Then I researched and told her to rub them on the underside of her arms or around the breast area. (Suzanne Somers' books state that, and Lori just forgot). That worked much better. Within a week she was feeling sooo much better.
When Lori had her testing for the bios, her tests included many more than anyone would receive from a conventional doctor. In fact she had 22 vials of blood drawn, and got 12 pages of results back. Also, antiaging specailists have a much more precise testing and even the thyroid testing normals are different than those considered "normal" by conventional doctors. Did you have your DHEA and Cortisol levels done? The immune system plays a significant role in the dx of cancer...any type. Lori's cortisol levels were the highest of over 3000 patients that their practice (3 clinics), had seen. She was headed for adrenal burnout, and was not even aware of this. As I said, she feels had she not gotten on the bios, she would have been dx with mets by this time.
You have to listen to your body, and do what you feel is right for you. Her rad onc had a fit when she told him she was on bios, (as she said this is her body her life), and she will not tell her med onc. After 5 years when he says, well you are cured, then she will tell him about the bios. Her GYN ( and GYN for 9 of the females in our family), was so supportive of the bios and stated that a woman has to do whatever it takes to lead a healthy life. This is a GYN from a very rural area.
MACNMEDD...if you tell me where you live, I will look in Somers' books to check for a doctor/clinic for you. Oh, and Lori's antiaging specialist is a MD.
Dr. Uzzi Reiss has a book The Natural Super Woman, and he has developed a cancer protocol listing all the vitamins/supplements a person should take. He is not listed in Somers' books.

Wow, how do they get the cortisol under control?
My cortisol was normal and my DHEA was low normal. But when I supplement DHEA I get very irritable. But by DH's cortisol was horrible. He supplements with tiny doses five times a day. If he doesn't take HC and Iodoral he can't get his temperature up.
I wish they had the anti-aging conferences closer. Or that we could watch them on pay per view. One thing I learned is that a lot of doctors call themselves anti-aging docs but aren't. My doc said, if they don't have experience with cortisol dosing and putting people on iodine, they're incompetent---it doesn't matter what seminar they took about estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. The AntiAgers are also huge into gluten free to help the hormones work.
I have to get out my Uzzi Reiss book again. So much good stuff in there. Thanks for the reminder!
