Ahh, Judy, that is lovely.
Even though we had our Thanksgiving in October, I am so Thankful for you all too. I know i would not have made it through the last year without you all. Here's to better things in the year ahead!
-
Judy~ Your hair looks adorable.
Kerry your new picture is sooo pretty
I feel better after I ranted yesterday
.
I am thankful for everyone of you for listening, helping and just supporting me over the last year. I can't thank everyone enough. Kerry I totally agree with you about the better year. I am READY!!!
-
Hi everyone! Hope everyone has a great day! I'm so THANKFUL to have met all of you! And, I'm also so THANKFUL that we are all still cancer-free!!!!
-
Me too...bring on 2010!!!
Jaimie: I hope things are getting better there, but LOL about your daughter wanting a cell phone, she is a bit young, I agree! Just tell her no list, no gifts!
Have a nice weekend girls
-
Judy - Your hair growth really gives me hope. Thinking of Julia.
Jamie - I actually did see a psychiatrist this week and it did help. Sounnds like you are very very busy these days. How is your hair growth?
Happy Thanksgiving all. Just a regular day here in Canada. But many Canadians take off to the US to shop tomorrow.
-
me too..
very grateful..
happy thanksgiving to all.
-
Judy ~ I surely hope you get something worked out for Julia soon. Your hair is looking great!
Jamie ~ you wrote >>I may write a list and cross off all of the things that I do not want to deal with and then let the person know why I do not want to deal with it.>> I honestly think this is an excellent idea. Do it. Seeing a therapist isn't a bad idea either.I, too, am so very thankful for this group. What a journey we've been on! There were times when I don't know what I would have done without you guys. I know I would have (eventually) coped just because I had to, but having you beautiful Furies has helped more than I can ever say.
Love and hugs,
Artemis -
Well, I hope everyone is full of Turkey and Pie! I must say I was envious of you all tucking into your Holiday Feasts. Isn't it wonderful how we all found each other.
Well, it is gloomy and very "Novembery" here. Almost want it to snow just to brighten things up a bit. Not much Vit D floating around - not sure the last time I saw the sun.
Artemis - is it next Monday that you are having your MRI? Hope your stress level is OK. I have heard of so many people complaining of dizziness after treatment, I am sure it will be clean as a whistle!
Jaimie - oh, yeah, don't do anything ever out of obligation. You don't even have to give a reason. Just say NO. The first time is hard, but it gets easier.
Judy - just watched your video on FB. Wonderful to see you "live"! You look so great.
Well, as Bev said, it is just a normal week here for us Canadians. Glad it is Friday though. Have a great weekend!!
-
Kerry ~ yes, Monday is the day, and my stress level is pretty darn high. I've been eating Xanax like M&M's today, and I'm STILL edgy! Thanks for your encouragement; I'm pretty sure that everything is fine, too, but boy do I dread going through this. I wish I'd booked it for early morning so I could get it over with, but it's not until 2:45...ugh.
I hope everyone has a great SE-free weekend! We're putting up Christmas decorations tomorrow.
-
Artemis - I will be thinking of you. It sure is no fun. And an MRI to boot - not the most pleasant of scans. Putting up Christmas decorations sounds fun, we are planning on doing our outside ones today too! Hope it manages to distract you a bit.....the Xanax sound good too!
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
-
Artemis~ Thinking of you and I hope your stress level comes down soon......
Well I went out black Friday shopping yesterday and then we went and cut down a Christmas tree for the first time since my kids where born. It was so much fun
I am hoping that we get it put up today so our house will be covered with the wonderful smell of a Christmas tree
. We also need to put up our outside decorations while it's not raining. It has rained so much in the last 2 months I think it would take 2 weeks of sun to take care of all the rain.
Thanksgiving went pretty well but if we do next year it will be back at our house. I forget how hard it is to cook in someone elses house. I couldn't find anything.
Next up is my neices babyshower tomorrow.... and I still can not find the gift that I want to give her....
-
Hi guys. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Artemis: hang in there tomorrow, just take the xanax to calm you during the MRI....I always tell them I am unsure if I am allergic to the contrast (which I am), so they also give me benedryl, which really knocks me out, lol. My vertigo was terrible, was accompanied by headaches, ringing ears, and nausea, and it turned out fine. Just some weird chemo side effect I guess.
Kerry: I am with you on the weather, it really stinks! Just cold and gray...we'll have the snow before you know it, so watch what you wish for, lol!!! Oh Kerry, I hate that video...my sister was filming it for my other sister, and I was ticked off at my MIL, so I look very angry. Way to stir up trouble on Thanksgiving, dear MIL...I took the video down
Jaimie: We are decorating our tree tonight, kind of combining it with my birthday before DH goes out of town again. It is sitting here in my living room, smelling very pine-y, lol. We don't usually get one this early, since they dry out so quickly...The tree sits right next to me (small living room), and it is an extra smelly one this year!
So I baked some more pies, and am making veggie soup for tonight. It smells good in here....like home. I think I am the only daughter out of 4 who religiously uses my mother's recipes, it is comforting to have these familiar smells, and creates memories for the kids, too.
Hugs
Judy
-
Artemis - right there with you today. Let us know how you do. Deep breaths....
Judy - Happy happy Birthday!!! Any big plans for the day? It was cool seeing a "walking/talking" version of you on the Video! You look like you have a nice big, busy extended family.
Well, we got the outside lights up yesterday, so it can snow now! Flurries forecast for tomorrow, so we will see.
Hope everyone is doing well, and have a great day.
-
Artemis~ thinking 'bout you today!
-
me too.
good luck Artemis
Judy - happy birthday and continued prayers for Julia.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving.
-
Hi, Furies! I've just gotten home from the MRi, and everything went great. I could feel you all there with me, and the Xanax helped a lot, too, lol! The tech was wonderful; she really helped put me at ease, and she didn't give me a hard time about my wanting to use my foot for the contrast dye. Also, the whole thing didn't take as long as I thought it would.
I said to her, "I know you can't say, but what do you think?" She said, "You're right, I can't say. But I'll say I wouldn't lose any sleep over it." So, I'm more encouraged that everything is fine. I hope to hear from the doctor tomorrow or Wednesday.
Thank you all SO MUCH for just being you!
Happy Birthday, Judy! I hope you're having a good day.
We put up our Christmas tree Saturday. My 4-yr-old niece came to help, and she did a great job. The tree is lovely even if the majority of the decorations are bunched together on the lowest parts.
Hugs to all,
Artemis -
Awesome Artemis
-
Excellent news Artemis! Wonderful. Oh, your tree sounds exactly like ours is going to look like! My kids do a "great" job of putting everything bunched together too. Not sure how we will manage this year with the puppy. Chaos, I am sure.
Well, we have a dusting of snow to welcome in December. Have a great day!
-
Glad to hear things went well Artemis.
Happy belated birthday Judy. Hope Julia is doing 'ok'.
Bev
-
Wow we are quiet these days...lol... So what is everyone doing these days ??
-
working.
working on Christmas, an upcoming trip, my music, my endlessly 'in shambles' household,
I'm wondering why we can't have hotflashes at will.. Things are sure getting cold around here.
-
Apple you make me feel a little better I am constantly working on my house also. It is a work in progress..... I clean up and my 3 kids (okay one is almost 40...lolll...) mess up and the cycle starts over.
Still not even close to being ready for Christmas
I am just not in the mood which is not a good thing when you have 2 little kids that are beyond thrilled about it.
I have an oncologist appt. on Monday that I am not looking forward to
I have a horrible case of canceritis (everything that is wrong with me is cancer
) So I am going with a list.... and a request for an AD. I think I am going to finally give in and get me something that puts me in a good mood. I have been putting off getting on one because the last time I lost weight on them (which I am not complaining about) but I need the fat for my upcoming surgery.
Oh and last but not least I am going to be a great Aunt this weekend. Sometime between Friday night and Saturday
-
Busy here too!
Jaimie - I'm with you on the canceritis. My next appt isn't until the beg. of jan, and it is already starting. have Breast Ultrasound in a week or two which I am already stressing over. Eek.
But, I am starting to get organised for Christmas!
-
yeah.. i have on the 21st..
shudder
-
I have a brain MRI tomorow and a PET/ct on Monday. I've been popping xanax like candy... scanxiety, canceritis... yep...
-
Hello everyone, been a crazy week, sorry been AWOL
Artemis: I'm glad your MRI went well, it was nice of the tech to give you a hint, they don't always do that.
Jaimie: I'm not ready at all for christmas....I'm going to try to shop this week, and not wait until the days just before like I usually do.
No tests or appts for me, except for my appt with the clot specialist next week to see what she thinks about reconstruction/surgery for me....we'll decide if I stay on the coumadin or not, so that will require a CT scan to see if it's gone.
Now that Julia has a clot in her arm, they want her on coumadin, but since she might throw up the pill, they will probably just keep her on the Lovenox (cha-ching). She will most likely be home this weekend.
We took her to a new hospital this time (no more Detroit), it was just opened in March and omg, I've never seen anything like it! All the rooms are private, they look like a hotel suite....huge flat screen TV with video games, internet, and free on demand movies....a mini fridge....remote control screen on the windows....she is very happy there! And instead of a chair, they have a long, bench like couch along the wall for guests to sleep on (there are no visiting restrictions). And I can't even pronounce half of the fancy foods on the menu, you can get room service 24/7!!!
thank god we have insurance, lol
-
Judy ~ Wow, Julia's new hospital sounds like a great place! I'm sorry she's there, but if you have to be in a hospital, it may as well be a swanky one!
Michele ~ is something going on with you or are these tests just regular checkups? I'llcertainly be thinking of you and praying for you!
Furies ~ I haven't heard from the onc regarding my MRI; believe it or not, I'd pretty much forgotten about it until late this afternoon. It was too late to call then, so I'll try to do that tomorrow. I guess the technician did a GREAT job in reassuring me, lol!
Mr. Artemis and Son are leaving in the morning to go to a family party this weekend. I get the whole house to myself until Sunday night ~ woot woot!!
Has anyone heard from Webbie? I've seen jancie and some of our other members on different parts of the board, but haven't seen Web.
-
Artemis I have talked to our Webbie on Facebook
So I got rid of my creepy picture finally
This is what my hair looks like now.
or at least for another 2 weeks. I am getting it dyed by my hairdresser in 2 weeks.
-
Ohhh, Jaimie, look at you! Love the new photo. My hair has already grown since I took my photo. Considering a colour myself......
Yep, Web is alive and well and active on FB.
Artemis - enjoy your weekend! I envy your peace and quiet! Ours is going to be hectic - Emily's birthday party tomorrow, then 2 friends are staying for a sleepover, then Angus' kids company Christmas party on Sunday - maybe get a tree in the middle of it all?? I would say that if anything "odd" turned up on that MRI, you would have heard be now. In my experience, you find out pretty fast if there is bad news.
Michele - thinking of you today and on Monday. Who would have thought that scans would be so terrifying!
Judy - wow, what a hospital! Hope Julia gets to come home soon.
Well it is a PA day today so I will have both kids home all day - also got to do the birthday party prep, and write the Santa letters! Have a good day everyone.
-
done with the scan. both the tech and I couldn't see anything obvious on it. I should have something *official* this afternoon... my onc promised he'd call the radiologist over lunch and text me with the report. so, hopefully, I can quit worrying over the weekend.
