breast cancer metastasis to the small bowel

Hello all,

Just found out that my bc has spread to my small bowel anyone have this same diagnosis?

I am so scared cant believe it. Had reconstruction started in May expanders went well fully expanded then thanksgiving my bc side split open?

within a few weeks I was at emerg with the most horrid stomach ache and vomiting.

they found two tumours in diffrent sections of my small bowel they were surgically removed and

also was the expander on the bc side. pathology came back that the bc spread.

also have lymph node envolvment anyone can help with some insite?

they say its very rare to spread here so I am even more scared?

is this finally the death sentance???? I am not sure what to think?????

    Hi, I'm so sorry and can understand how scary this must have been for you.

    I haven't had this happen, but do know that cancer in the bowel caught early has an excellent  prognosis for the future with early treatment.

    I wish I had more advice to offer but try to remain confident, it sounds like it was found early which is great.

    I hope someone else that knows more can help you but do know of someone with bowel cancer (caught early) who is doing great eight years later:)

    Was your orginal breast cancer ductal or lobular. My 2 tumours  were mixed - a bit of both.

    I had my ovaries out for theraputic reasons last month (instead of having monthly injections for 5 years), and both ovaries had pockets of breast cancer cells throughout them when they did the histology.

    Aparrently this is rare as hens teeth, but my onco did say that lobular breast cancer can act in strange ways. Yell

    I had been on ovarian suppression therapy and AI's for the 12 months since diagnosis and mastectomy, and still the cells spread and grew even tho I had 0/6 nodes.

    I know it dosent help your situation, but just letting you know you are not alone with having weird stuff going on! Wink
