Ok, so I'm not posting much, but am reading. Profanity doesn't bother me. Venting, and differing of opinions doesn't either. No topic, to me, is off limits. I have thick skin. I come here to relax, hang out, laugh, and learn. Just my two cents, in case it matters.
btw, my reexcision path results came back today and I'm now moving on to radiation. I'll be on those threads A-LOT. Thanks Rachel for your comments to me a few pages ago! If anyone wants to tell me about their rads experience, I'm wanting to hear any and all details. Not looking forward to this part.
Now I'm going outside to ride.....er.....pet my horses!

Renee, I really hope your future son in laws team wins, so they can KICK OHIO STATE IN THEIR BIG FAT A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a Michigan State fan, thus Ohio State is not my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rachel, I am flexible enough to find creavtive ways to get my point across and add a few gray words, in such away.
Have a great day!!!!
-
eadsla, I apologize - I saw your post from earlier today ("If anyone else had started this thread with the hopes of being able to freely use profanity in their postings. . .") and that was my (albeit, incorrect) take on it. Normally, I wouldn't comment, but there's profanity throughout this forum, so I feel someone went gunning for Rachel and wanted to clear up what I thought was a misconception. Again, I apologize and if you would like me to delete my earlier post, just let me know.
-
Catherine- you did miss some big poop, J414 is correct... but anyway...
I have decided to move this thread myself, to a safe place. I thought we'd be safe here but the trolls have used the rules to manipulate the mods, and the mods are intransigent.
Here's a link: Sisterhood of the Secret Handshake
You have to sign up and log in, but it's free, it's private, we can post from iPhones, there's space for us to upload photos and files, and we can invite our friends from other places (and here), you can get posts as emails or read them on the web as we do now. I moderate 10 other lists (and am a member of 23 more) there since 2000 and never had a problem.
You can also sign up by just emailing shakem-subscribe@yahoogroups.com (an empty email, its an automatic thing)
I can help anyone who has any kind of trouble using yahoogroups.
I just can't stay here with this bad feeling. If G-d forbid I have some new problem, I'd search the web and maybe end up here again, as I did when I was going through RADS. But my prognosis is good, I am tolerating Tamox well so far, preparing for Zometa, so I am hoping for the best and moving on.
Hope to see everyone on the new thread, and sorry for the trouble!
Love,
me and the kid

Oops!!! I started the whole cursing thing. I was so excited I asked if we could spew profanity every where. Thanks for trying Rachel.
Mary....I knew there was something about you that I liked. I remember hearing about that rivalry.
-
Deb ask away on the rads thing. Lots of experience here. Rachel has some great research material.
-
Sorry Rachel. I was posting while you were.
-
J414--Nah, don't sweat it about removing the post. But I have to admit, when I first read it, I thought "WTF?" LOL I went back to the same post you just quoted and thought "Oh, I'll bet that's what triggered it." I should have prefaced that I was speaking hypothetically. But in the end, no harm, no foul. But I thank you for your apology ("I'm sorry...NO I'm sorry...NO NO NO...I'M sorry!!!!)
You see, Rachel? You have people here who are ready to jump to your defense. It just sucks a little that you feel compelled to move the thread from the site.
kmmd--I concur completely! Thick skins for all! And IMHO, those of us posting don't seem to have a problem with what we read. I'm sort of scratching my head wondering how this all became an issue.
-
Hello Again,
Sorry to keep popping in here, but I wanted to make sure that I clarify something. I supported the idea of allowing cursing, as I understand that it can be very helpful in reducing stress. I told Rachel that I would work on that. When I mentioned it at our staff meeting, those who work with sponsors/supporters feared that this could become a problem, as they may not want their name associated with a site that allows this. We, as individuals, have no problem with "freedom of speech", it was just as a protective measure as not to offend our supporters. I hope that you understand that this was not a judgement or us "taking sides". We really don't want to have any hurt feelings, if possible. it is hard to run a community with over 60,000 members and over 2,000 posts a day!
Thanks for your understanding,
Melissa

Melissa, I understand, I feel badly for any hurt feelings, but I do understand. You do a great job with a lot of responsibility and grief from what I have seen. You've been wonderful to me in all my interactions with you. thank you

Hello to all who still post her! Had a very good day at work. It was "party" day. We went to Tobyhana Armey Depot for "Operation Santa". The employees of the Depot raise money every year to host a party for special needs children( I work with special needs children). It is a fun filled day. They have different Characters that come out(posted what i could on FB), all the kids see Santa and get a goody bag as well as a gift. There is music and danceing, all thanks the the employees of Tobyhanna Army Depot! The children love it!
-
Sounds like a fun day for a great group of kids, Mary. Thank you for being so giving to these deserving children. Tomorrow is our 10th annual North Coast Toy Run for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. I'm in charge of all the raffle prizes this year so I have been busy keeping track of everything we've received. It's going to be fun...

Just a fly by. I have a house full of family and friends for the big football game last night. Looks like we're going to the Rose Bowl. Wish us luck Mary. We might take down those Buckeyes after all.
-
GOOD LUCK RENEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi all! Just a drive by from me to...
Moderators--we understand. Thank you for trying to make it work!
Linda and Mary--am impressed by your good deeds!!
-
Renee, growing up in Michigan, the Rose Bowl was equal to Christmas Morning. I remember getting up and watching the Parade and then the game. Of course back then the Big Ten was nicknamed the Big Two Ohio State and University of Michigan. I really hope Ohio State loses and Loses big!!!!
Thank Allie, I am an associate teacher w/ autistic children, so it was just part of my job, of course it is really rewarding to see these children develop language skills! It is a fun job!
-
Melissa--Thanks for clarifying, although I didn't think it was necessary..but still nice that you did. Of course you have issues unrelated to the content of the boards that need to be addressed in order to keep the website running. Who couldn't understand that?
Sometimes things get a bit weird.
-
OK - I am doing a very quick drive-by from work.
My computer is on the fritz again, and I haven't been able to check in to catch up on what you lovely ladies are up to. But - I am thinking of you and hope to be back soon.
I hope everyone is doing well. "See you" soon.
Be good to you -
-

Hello to all still lurking here!
-
Happy birthday Carol.
I had my recon yesterday and I'm re cooperating nicely. The worst thing for me is not being able to sleep. I normally sleep on my side.
Would you guys mind giving me some feedback on a new topic I started? I understand if you don't have time during the holidays.
