    hello everyone,

    My daughter (almost 5 yrs old) and I had a blast today putting up the Christmas tree and decorating. We played Christmas music and danced and sang most of the day. My favorite Christmas song is "Have Yourself a Merry LIttle Christmas".  When I heard it today I cried.  The one line in it "Through the years we all will be together if the fate allows" really hit me. This song has a more deeper meaning to me now. I listened to every single word and it is even more special to me. It really  made me think I might not have too many Christmas's left. Everything affects me differently now. I really know what is important and what isn't.  I guess that is what cancer does to all of us.

    Diane,

    I did the same thing today with my husband and boys.  It really does mean more to me now too.  Please don't think that you won't have many more Christmas' left.  Be positive for the 5 year old angel of yours!!!  I hope you both have another 50 Christmas' together.  That's my plan too!

    Hey Diane,

    That is also my favorite Christmas song and since my Mom died 8 years ago of brain cancer it chokes me up pretty much every time I hear it.  Last year was the worst Christmas I ever had.  I was diagnosed right before Thanksgiving, got shingles 10 days before Christmas & had to postpone my surgery, etc.  I'm hoping for a happier time this year.  My kids are teenagers, but I know it was difficult for them too.  I hope you can enjoy your little one and have a wonderful Christmas.

    Thanks Linda.  I had a friend's sister recently tell me she says a prayer for me everyday and I got all choked up.  I told she doesn't know how much that means.  While she thinks it's something small it means a lot to know that people are thinking of you.  That is also how I feel when I read a post like yours.  I'm touched by your kindness and hope your holidays are fantastic!
