What are the criteria for choosing radiotherapist?

Options

My mom just finished chemos and now is time for rads. But we don't know what are the criteria for choosing a "good" radiotherapist? Is the machine that makes the difference or the "operator"? Ηow long after the end of chemos, must rads begin?

Also my mom is ER+ and is going to have femara, But her onc is going to meet her on Dec 18. She finished chemo yesterday and I don't know if she should begin femara as soon as possible or we have to wait for the appointment with her onc?

 I appreciate for your help

My oncologist recommended my radialogist oncologist.  You can also ask your mom's surgeon for a recommendation.  You will meet with him/her in advance and you can ask how much experience she has with treating breast cancer.  I would also ask about his/her record of complications caused by treatment.  I did not have chemo so I can't speak to that.  My BC sisters who had chemo will address that.  I am on Arimidex for ER+ breast cancer.  Femera is also used to control ER+ breast cancer.  I was not started on Arimidex until after my 33 radiation treatments.  I met with my oncologist after my surgery and she referred me to radialogy and I went back to see her when the treatments were done to start the Arimidex.  I don't know if that is standard procedure.

Hugs to you and your mom.
