strange rashes after lumpectomy

I just had a lumpectomy for DCIS Stage 0 High Grade. The day after surgery I developed redness and swelling at three different sites where I had surgery for skin cancers-two were basal cell and one was early melanoma (by ankle). These incisions were old and completely healed. The site of the lumpectomy seems fine. I also have an incision on my back from surgery 6 years ago-it did not get red or swollen-only the sites where I had some kind of skin cancer surgery. My surgeon has no clue what could cause this. Does anyone? Thanks!

I was given an antibiotic while I was still unconscious during my re-excision, which caused a rash on my arms. They said it was because I was allergic to the antibiotic which they gave me through the IV. I never had an allergy to antibiotics, so it was news to me. Maybe you had an allergic reaction and those areas were more sensitive and vulnerable...but then again, I'm no doctor!
