    Hi All

I was diagnosed with stage 1 triple negative in 2005. Just recently i had a ca 125 tumour marker test come back slightly elevated. I am very worried this is something bad,

The test was done by a gyno due to some abnormal bleeding. Should i be concerned this is a breast cancer recurrence? Or is ca125 mostly for uterine disorders?

    Cazza,

My mom had Ovarian Ca and they tested her with a CA125.  If you are pre-menopausal, any number of things can cause a false positive.  Like your period or other inflammatory processes in the body.  I wouldn't be 'freaked' out by a slight elevation.

My oncologist tests some other marker for breast cancer.  I can't remember the exact number of that one.

I am by no means an expert, just trying to give you some encouragment from my experience.

Are you a friend of "Bill W"?  Just wondering .

Take care, hope this helps.  Sammie Kay

    Thanks Sammie

I seem to be getting more worried every day. This test result has knocked me down.

Hi Cazza - I recently had  slightly elevated CA15-3 tumor marker - test going to be redone in Jan.  My research shows that slightly elevated markers can happen for many many different reasons. . . . . .are you getting follow up for the bleeding?

    Hi Ozzi

I am getting follow up for the bleeding with the gynaecologist. I'm getting a d&c done in December.
