New "guidelines" outrageous

By the task force's own admission, If the new "guidelines" are followed, 3% more women will die from breast cancer each year - and all "to save a buck."  Whose mother, wife, sister, daughter, does the task force deem dispensable?

And what is all this task force idiocy about calling false positives a "risk," or "negative side effect" of mammograms?  As my physician told me years ago: IT'S NOT THE FALSE POSITIVES YOU WORRY ABOUT.  IT'S THE FALSE NEGATIVES.

Women, we've got to fight this tooth and nail.  It looks like we haven't "come so far, baby," after all.

PCB - I hear you! The following is a post from a girl in MD - just one way to get involved.

Join breast cancer survivors and advocates in protest of the recent recommendations by the USPSTF that average risk women aged 40-49 and above 74 not get annual mammograms.  They also recommended against teaching women to do BSE.

    When: Monday 11/23/09 8am-5:30pm

Where: near USPSTF offices at 540 Gaither Rd, Gaithersburg MD. We'll be along Gaither Road and there is a public parking area on the street.

What: Wear pink, carry a sign w/your message, raise your voice and picket w/us

Picketing is allowed w/out permit but we must not block entrances/exits and must keep moving. Open to all -- organized by a group of concerned surivovrs; not affiliated with any organization

Even if you can't walk yourself, drive by and honk for support or spread this to friends and family who can!
