Starting Chemo February 2009?

Artemis: I had an MRI for dizziness a couple of months ago, plus she also looked at my spine and neck, so I was in the machine for 2 hours. I never thought I could do it, but with the help of 1/2 a xanax, I actually slept through a lot of it! You'll do fine, and you're right, alot of women suffer with this vertigo, so I'm sure your test will be good!
Jaimie: I bet that once you have a plan laid out with your NOLA doctors, you'll feel better about the whole thing. It sounds like your photography is going really well...that's great!
Michele: I understand completely....my right side was a prophy (although I did have DCIS in it back in 2004, it was fine this time)....but I do not miss the mammograms at all, and the stress that goes along with them.
Kerry: Cut it out, you're making me look bad, lol....I have...um, let me see....ZERO presents bought so far. I usually end up doing my shopping the week before christmas, this year probably won't be any different.
So nothing much to report here...Julia is home, leaky tube and all, until we can get an appt with her GI doc. Still no nutrition in her yet. I'm being lazy today, and I still have not caught that stupid mouse....he's a real stinker, and smart (or lucky). I feel like that mouse is taking over my days, lol....I'm constantly checking and reinventing traps to catch him. Using both homemade traps and regular traps at this point, lol

Okay who knew that getting my stitches out would hurt (burned) like crazy. The good part is all looks good and I am done as long as I do not have any complications. Onward to January
My PS was sure to remind me that she will follow me once I am back from NOLA.
I am still editing my session from this weekend which will hopefully be completed tonight. Editing has not been so bad for this session which I am grateful for I have worked about 2 hours on it so far so another 1/2 an hour and it should be done.
Hope everyone is having a good one.
-
I got my brown sash in tai chi tonight!

-

good luck and prayers for Julia, Judy.
-
Wow Cheryl!!
-
Just popping in to say good morning
-
Where is everyone ?? I guess we are starting to get busy with life
I hope everyone is having a great Friday and that our weekend is a blast
.
-
I'm here... waiting for the damn phone to ring... expecting TM results today. <sigh> Why do I get so anxious???
-
Michele, sending low vibes.....
-
If my doc does TM testing, he's never mentioned it. I should ask them....I would guess they are doing it....does that involve the liver enzyme levels? That's the only test they've mentioned to me. I never heard anything when they re=checked my liver enzymes, so I guess they were ok.
Hubby should be home from up north soon....I haven't talked to him all week, he is out of our mobile coverage up there. the week flew by so quickly, I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving.
Last year I had my biopsy scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving, but I did my best to enjoy myself and not let it ruin the holiday. Then it was my birthday a couple of days after the biopsy, then I got my results 4 days later on Dec 4. It was a stressful week and a half.....Hard to believe it's almost been a year.
Hugs to all of you, I sometimes forget to pop in here, but you are all very important to me : )
-
normal!! whoo-hoo!!
Hey Judy, How's Julia doing? Any better?
-
Awesome Michele
Enjoy your weekend.
-
Yay Michele!
Thanks for asking about Julia....but still no luck with the tube....it's always leaking, and if we try to use it with the feeding formula, at only 25ml/hr, she can't go more than 20 min. and it all backs up.
My honest opinion: they should get her bowels moving before trying to use a j-tube. The formula has nowhere to go. I'm guessing we'll end up pulling it and restarting TPN. She's still without adequate nutrition, so we need to get the TPN started on Monday, at least that's what I hope.
So, I finally caught that stupid little mouse.....balanced a paper towel tube over a shelf, over a trash can....put food in the end and when he crawled through to the end, it fell into the trash can! He's been set free outside, and that should be the end of my mouse problem!
I'm off to bed...nite

i'm hoping we are ALL busy with day to day things..
i check in daily.. don't have much to say because I'm busy. My music problem has worked itself out. thanksgiving is here just about.. lots of cooking and eating to do.
-
I actually have been busy working.....it's awesome to be doing something I love to do.
Oh on a really good note well at least for me I found my remote and have big plans for taking a none cheap porn start picture of me...lol...
I have another session tomorrow along with herceptin. I sure hope that I can get thru both of them in one day. I also can't forget shopping for thanksgiving, still cleaning and organizing my house (for January) and the kids are off of school for the week. By next weekend I am going to fall over...lol....
-
So, guess it is Thanksgiving this week down there? Hope everyones prep is going well.
Jaimie - so happy you are doing something that makes you happy! Sounds like you are getting a lot of work. Good for you! How long does your Herceptin take?
Apple - glad your Music problem got sorted.
Judy - let us know how Julia is doing with the TPN. Can't believe you finally caught that mouse! Smart bugger....
We had a busy weekend - Hockey on Saturday - took the kids for the first time. They loved all the excitement of the arena, the songs, etc, not too fussed on the game. (me neither!) Yesterday we had a Family lunch for the kids birthdays at the Rainforest Cafe - kids had a great time, crazy busy though. We are now booked solid every weekend until Christmas. Good news is the weather continues to be mild....
Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well.
-
Hi Kerry~ Herceptin takes about 1 1/2 hours total which isn't so bad
Today they put me in the back room so I am bored out of my mind. I have never been to a Hockey game my DH and kids went last year and had a blast while I vegged on the couch after Chemo.
Judy~ I am glad you got rid of you unwanted visitor. I sure hope they help Julia soon.
I am supposed to have a session today but it is getting ready to rain
Boo--hisss.. Then I might have another senior, a portrait party and possible another family session. Now I am just waiting on some orders
Then I can buy some Christmas Presents
-
hey~ we were on the 2nd page! can't have that!!
Hope everyone is having a great day!
-
Good morning from me!!
-
Good morning! So busy lately, so much to do today....already cleaned out my area of the basement, it was getting too messy. Now I have to repaper the shelves in the pantry and put all the food back. After that, it's pie baking time, I have 4 pies to bake today.
We are still in the process of getting Julia back on TPN...can't believe how crazy this has become, I spent hours on the phone with infusion people, nurses, doctors office....still nothing yet started. I'm hoping to hear from them today.
Had parent teacher conferences last night--which I totally forgot about, and didn't even get there until 7:30, leaving one hour to see his teachers. He did pretty good...2 A's, 3 B's and one C (he's working on that one, lol). Happy with it since the first marking period in Jr High can be difficult on students.
Anyway, we will be putting up our tree this weekend, and celebrating my birthday before hubby leaves town again on Monday. So between Thanksgiving, birthday and Christmas, it's gonna be a busy week.
Hope you are all happy, healthy, and enjoying day to day life.

Wow how did we get to the second page...lol.... I have been crazy busy lately. I am not sure how many more ways I can be pulled..... Honestly I am about to have one of my melt downs if my family doesn't give it a rest. I am tired of knowing everyone's business AGAIN
I guess my talk last year about not wanting to deal with their problems didn't work again.
Thanksgiving is tomorrow so I am getting the dinner ready for 17 people that will be held at my Uncle's house, my niece's babyshower is supposed to be this weekend but my sister said she sent out the invites but no one has RSVP'd, still dealing with NOLA paperwork, running my business, cousins acting like an A$$ to my Uncle (who I love dearly), getting ready for Christmas, 6 year old will not tell me anything she wants for Christmas because I told her that Santa is not getting her a cell phone and the list goes on and on......I think I may write a list and cross off all of the things that I do not want to deal with and then let the person know why I do not want to deal with it.
So maybe I will call the psychiatrist this week and make an appt.

Hey gang!! Long time no see!! How's everyone!!?? I'm doing great-computer on the other hand had a virus, and I was PO'ed when I got to Best Buy. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
-
happy Thanksgiving February sisters.
Judy - my hair looks just about the same.. darker tho.
-
Hi Judy - You look gorgeous. So pretty.. I am one week behind you but no where close to your length. My husband sends his compliments too. It looks like you have had it cut or textured???
-
Jaimie: sounds like it will be a fun but busy Thanksgiving....enjoy it!
Apple: have a nice Thanksgiving!
Beverly: you're so nice, and so is your DH, lol! No, I refused to get it cut, I figure I'll have to go through this awkward growing-out stage anyway, so I may as well get it over with! I just use some new products that help straighten it out a bit, and molding putty. It's finally getting to where I can do something with it.
Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Overeat, have a glass of wine, and remember that even though it's been an awful year, we still have so much to be thankful for : )
Hugs to everyone, I am thankful for each and every one of you!
