    Colette, Faux twisted BO's words.  He's not acting like anything, he's not even in this country right now.  

    The task force is a bunch of non-cancer doctors, nurses and professors.  THAT is what we have to get out to the public.  They think this was done by cancer experts, and it wasn't!!!

    Hey, I worked for Hillary.  None of this would be happening if this was on her watch.

    I am so happy I found this forum!  This is my first time posting.  It is great to see this issue discussed here.  We are not allowed to discuss "health care" or "politics" on the board I am usually on.  They moderate the heck out of the board and posts are always deleted.  It is so aggravating!!  I think I have found my new home.

    WLPD  Welcome!!!  This is a GREAT group of people here on BC,.org. Of course, just like in any other forum, you will hear all kinds of viewpoints, but for the most part, this is a respectful, informative and caring place to be!!!  We are glad to have you join us!

    Based on all that's happened in our country in the last 11 months... IMO - EVERYTHING WILL EVENTUALLY POLICITALLY MOTIVATED. (Unless of course "we the people" work together to prevent it.)

    Does anyone one of the Task Force considered environmental factors in their review? Isn't it possible that number of BC cases could rise due to environmental factors and ingredients in our cosmentics ect. So say even if mammos in 40's were detecting BC cases..there may still be just as many late stage BC case because new environmental factors are at play? There is a difference between statistical significance and clinical significance in research. The Task Force appears to have only focused on statistical significance?? There is also some question as to the data they used to reach these conclusions and how they did so. Their telling women NOT to do self breast exams is quite perplexing and I think great cause for concern. As science becomes better at identifying risk factors they may be able to better detrmine which women in their 40's should go every year. But until, then it seems to me they are taking a drastic and negligent step here.

    I didn't know Susan Love supported the new guidelines.  This is outragreous!  And I can't believe she supports rationing of healthcare - as stated in an article on the very liberal Huffington Post.  Army of Women my A$$!!!!!!!

    Camp is a Republican from MI.  Clearly, they are looking to exploit the fear and emotion surrounding this topic.

    How so?  I am neither Rep. or Dem.  I am an American citizen who wants health care reform, not death "Panels" like the USPSTF.  That is all this health care bill does.  It gives the USPSTF a huge amount of power to decide the standard of care while not ONE Oncologist was on that panel and numerous medical associations are very much against the new standard of care...because that is what it is...a new standard of care that Dr. will be forced to abide by..unless of course, you have money and can pay out of pocket for the standard tests which help detect cancer at it's early stages.

    The government says in one breath that the USPSTF is just "guidelines" and then in the next states in the bill how much power the USPSTF really does have.

    This isn't about attacking "Obama"...I really could care less what happens to him.  This is about protecting our children from disasters that are awaiting in this bill such as lack of routine testing for cancer.  I don't want my daughter to have to FIGHT just to get a mammogram so that she knows what is happening with her body.

    Wrong is wrong, and this bill and the USPSTF is wrong...just like the Iraq war was.   I knew that Bush was going to attack them the second he took office..that he would give any reason to do so, and I was right.  I can also say I never voted for him..but I never voted for Obama either because I saw the same arrogant attitude that Bush had.  BO does not do anything for the good of the country..he does it for what it can do for him.  Forget who he is and just step back and look at his actions...he acts as if our outrage because of the new standard of care for women breast health is a direct attack on him.  How arrogant is that?

    Colette - You are so right! And you have very good reason to be concerned about your children's future in this country - not only pertaining to health care but also to their financial future and political indoctrination. Our governement is mortgaging their future. The current administration had an opportunity to stop the madness. Instead, they have chosen to continue the spending and to continue the taxation. Instead of reforming the current health care industry - they have chosen to create a situation of control and bigger governement.

    And yes, it is all quite arrogant and narcissistic.

    My mother is 79, and on Medicare, with a Kaiser plan she pay's extra for and is very happy with it.  In this Health Care bill being voted on in the senate there are cuts in Oncology, Cardiology, and Medicare.  Fight this for future generations as well as our senior citizens. There are now over 4000 pages, and we are getting screwed, every which way.  I agree with Colette and Laura, lets stop this outrageous bill, and the take over of our lives, from Big Government and some Health Czar. This scares the heck out of me, and should scare all of us.

    Whatever the motivations are or aren't ..one thing is clear, we women need to stand together on this one issue. Whoever you voted for or didn't vote for...we need to stand together ..we cannot tolerate a "do nothing" approach for women in their 40's and even younger. We are 1/2 this country..we can do this!

    klfh - I am sickened for the women in America who will die because of this..our family members, our friends, our neighbors. I couldn't care less what people say or think about Obama. The guy can take care of himself. This is about US not Obama....let's stick together and stop this thing.
