Wow, terrific news, Bobbie! I think I can feel your relief all the way here on the other coast! I think your DH will be the subject of someone's research article.

I had a really really hard time when I was first diagnosed. I was so so angry that God let this happen to both my husband and then me. I felt so alone and well almost cursed. I didn't get it-then I read your story and I realized I wasn't alone, I had no right to feel so sorry for myself, and was inspired by your courage. Your story helped me realize I wasn't alone.

    Hugs and Prayers!

Hi, all!  I haven't been on the boards much lately, though I got a few good laughs today out of Carol Clark's thread.  I'm so thankful for my cyber friends.  The humor shines through the shit.

Last Sunday, I awoke to DH having a grand mal seizure, followed closely in succession by three more.  We just left the hospital and came home on Wednesday, and he is doing okay today.  You know how this cancer thing goes.  Who knows what tomorrow (or today) will bring.  His brother has been up from Texas (he came before this started), and just left today.  Suddenly, I feel so alone.  I didn't realize how nice it was to have him here.  He was a great help.

I have several brothers and sisters down in WV that I could have come up, but they wouldn't/couldn't be any help to me.  Most of them would have to go to the emergency room if they saw a seizure (ha ha).  So, I'm off on unpaid leave this week and next week while I search for someone who can be here while I work.  I'm working with hospice and a local agency to get a trained aide here, and hospice will provide some of that.  It is going to SUCK.  It truly breaks my heart to see him go through this.

I will never get tired of saying how awesome we all are to each other, and how much that makes the journey more tolerable.  Thanks Girls!

    Hugs to you Bobbie.

I have tears in my eyes thinking of how you must be feeling, and at the utter unfairness of it all. It is obviously how much love you have for each other. I will echo diana in saying you are an amazing women to be coping with all this with such grace and courage. Hope you get some support sorted out - that must just be adding to your stress.

Holding you and your family close in my thoughts.

Thank you for taking the time to update us on your husband.  This does suck - no nice way to put it.   My heart goes out to you and your family and I wish I could jump over and give you the help you need.

    Bobbie,

    This really sucks, I am so sorry you have to deal with this.  It's so hard when your loved one is going through this.  We are here for you to vent to.  Do you have a strong support system IRL?  I mean, we're great and all...but you need somebody there with you to give you some relief every once in awhile.  {{big hugs}}

I'm feelin' all that support.  As always, thanks to you all.  We are very fortunate in that we have an awesome church, friends and family.  Tonight, one of my girlfriends dropped off some lemon chicken, wheat pasta and sauteed spinach-it was delicious.  In the midst of the chaos and fear, these moments lift me up.  Love you all!

Bobbie,  The fear and sadness can really take over sometimes. It made me especially sad to hear how you felt so alone. I wish we could help you more.  I am encouraged to hear you have some support.  The little things can make such a big difference.  Friends bringing food, words of encouragement from those who care, holding your DH and feeling the love between you.  Each of these moments is so powerful, and I wish you many of them.  Sending strength to you, and hope, and courage.  G.

Bobbie, i just caught up on this thread and i am sorry to hear that your dh has had seizures.  I hope that you are able to get a trained aide to help out.  I am hoping and praying that this lastest problem is able to be gotten past.  Continued prayers for your husband and you.

    Girls,

THANK YOU!  Dave and I are taking this journey one day at a time, which is the only thing we can do...You all make me laugh with joy and cry with sadness, and I'm so glad we all have each other.

He hasn't had seizures since last Tuesday, so that's a good thing....

    Peace,

    Bobbie
