YOU GO LEADER, I knew it would be negative!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOO!!!! Celebration time!!! Good luck with the TX, and we'll catch up with you later.. ((((((HUGS))) prayers answered!!
Warriors, we all need to go to the topics page and get to where they are taking signatures against the new mammogram guidelines. All Warriors need to sign up and weigh in!!! Most of us wouldn't even be here on earth, in a while, if it wasn't for mammograms and sonograms!!! So lets back up the other 300 & something sisters who already signed up and weighed in!!!!

Day 3, and I feel like I've been smothered and battered! I'm ok, just sleep deprived. I don't know if it's the anti-nausea meds or the steroid, but I just can't sleep! I haven't slept since Sunday. I keep waking every couple of hours and just feel funny. I actually called off work today.
My chest, face, and arms look sunburned from the Adriamycin. Ugh. No pain though!! Neulasta shot wasn't to bad. I just ache a little.
Please Mr. Sandman, bring me sleep!
-
Brenda ~ this is the best news ! I am so happy ~
Big hugs !

Sorry to all of you having such a rough time.

Cafelovr --ask your onc if you can take Melatonin to help you sleep...my onc nurse recommended it, and it does seem to help. I

Just read through all of your messsage- my goodness what an amazing group led by our wonderful Brenda. This is my third check today to see if you have got the all clear. hurrah
such wonderful news that you have one less battle. I look forward to you taking your place back at the helm.
Sat here in my wig, having a practice for tomorrow- thinking of going into work, (even though I am off until April) to catch up with a few people and thought I would wear my 'Jade'. My hair is falling out slowly, if it is all scooped up in the wig I won't have tell tale signs drifting all over my clothes.
Found a good link to a very thorough scientific summary of dietary advice on one of the other discussion boards- will try and copy the link to this page. http://cancer.ucsf.edu/crc/nutrition_breast.pdf
Love to you all.

Good Evening sisters. Glad to hear the good new Brenda.
I had a good day. I took my emend and only 2 other antnausa pills today. I am hungary and feel great. I know I need to drink more water but other than that it was a good day. Talk to you later.
Love Kimmy (((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hi ladies.
Did you get the h1n1 shot? Where?
The only place you can get it in the glorious (not) capitol of California is at a distribution center run by the government. Every other day for 8 times they have it set up for high risk groups. Like me. Most have been far away - they have two more - one on Saturday is near my house. I was planning on going and standing in like for five hours to get my shot. (they say high risk but nobody is checking.)
Well, they cancelled it, because the forecast is rain. that was the last high risk one. And, chemo is in 13 days, I'm already within the two weeks.
RAIN! They actually said they are afraid somebody is going to slip on the sidewalk. And, they cited parking.
Okay, Sacramento gets lots of rain. People go to plays, concerts, Kings basketball games - all in the rain. They line up outside on black friday - in the rain - to get their deals. But, they are going to deny a cancer patient a flu shot because of a sprinkle.
You can't make this sh*t up.
Doctors here don't have it - only the government.
I work in a school. If I have any hope of being able to keep my job, I need this shot. I am supposed to get two weeks before chemo. Now I can't. I could lose my job over this idiocy.
This is what government healthcare will get you.
I'm so frustrated!
-
...and Melatonin is under study now as a cancer-fighter...there is some evidence. But yes be sure to ask your doctor because it is a synthetic hormone and not right for everyone or for long-term use.
-
CoolBreeze - I got my H1N1 shot through my oncologists office. I had it the same day I had my 10 day blood draw - Last Monday. My oncologist insisted on seeing my counts before giving me the shot. I also had my flu shot last month, through my oncologist.
I hope you can get the shot....I really feel for those who want it and can't get it!
Linda
-
In California, apparently only the government can give it to you. Doctors don't have it.
-
COOLBREEZE, I got my H1N1 from my regular doctor as well as the regular flu shot and the Pnuemovac. I live in long beach ca. It isn't true that only the government has the vaccine!! Also, for a time all the CVS and WALGREENS drug stores were having clinics as well as Ralphs markets. I believe they aren't anymore cause they ran out. If you work for a school didn't they tell you where to get it, especially if they are making it mandatory. We DON'T Have Government run Health Care and thats the PROBLEM!!! So that has nothing to do with this!! You could also get it from your gynocologist, or the hospital where your ONC is. My grand daughter got it at her high school!!! I know alot of schools were giving it to students as well as teachers. I'm going to go on line and search it out to see if you can find it!!
HI all you warriors hope your day is going good and that your evenings will go smooth. CafeLovr, I'm so sorry you cant sleep, ask them for ambien or something strong to put you out. It's the steroids, and when you come down you will crash for days!! If it isn't one thing it's the other!!! Up, then down!!! Alicia I hope you are doing better this evening, and I so enjoy you girls banter back and forth!! Snuggie time and hubby time, how is your hubby and kids???
I can't wait to hear from BrendaS. I'm ready to burst I'm so happy!!!! Sisters have a wonderful evening with family and friends and I'll talk at you later. ((((((WARM TIGHT HUGS))))))))

Hi November ladies.... I just wanted to pop in with encouragement.. I completed 4 rounds of TC on March 24th.... I feel great... take one day at a time.... you will get through it..... I couldn't have gotten through without my January Jewels Chemo group... you'll get through it together as a group.... lock arms and hang tough... there is life after chemo!!!!
-
I am also in California and they still have it at my doctors office. They were also giving them at the elementary schools. I found out today I start 4 rounds of TC this Tuesday and taking Decadron for nausea. Has anyone taken this?

I haven't gotten a flu shot of any kind and my WBC won't allow it now any way.
I had my first TCH treatment last Thursday and have been feeling good, went to work all week. And I started daily leukine/nupogen shots on Monday. Went for my herceptin only treatment today and was stunned to find out my WBC was 0.9, and the docs were concerned especially since I'd already had three leukine shots. They recommended me to avoid crowds, wear a mask, generally lay low, continue the luekine shots through the weekend and have another CBC on Monday. We went ahead with Herceptin and I feel fine. I just have to be very careful and hope I rebound soon or I will have to postpone my chemo. I thought I was doing great; I'm healthy in every other way (have vitals that people would pay good money for) and didn't expect my white cells to be wiped out so quickly. I'm hardly ever sick, have had two antiobiotic prescriptions in my entire life, and have always relied on my strong immune system to make me well. I'm really worried that I essentially don't have one now.
Jenniflower--I had decadron day before, day of, and day after chemo, but mostly to prevent edema not to prevent nausea.
-
Good evening warriors!! I hope your evenings are going well. CAFELOVR, I hope you can sleep tonight and I was gonna suggest if you have any benadryl, that works good to counteract the steroids and makes you sleepy!!
HOLTBOLT thanks for jumping in here to support us November Girls!! We appreciate your encouragement and were glad for the visits and advice from the "been there done that ladies"
Jenniflower , glad you got your vaccine I think we might need it. Hope your doing good and get to sleep tight tonite.
deedee22, was reading your bio, very exciting to live on the rez! So glad your helping the elders to preserve their language because so many tribes have already lost theirs or are near extinction. I have relatives from the aguas calientes band of cahuilla indians, the mono and chuckchansi tribes from southern and central california. How long you been living on the rez? Can you go to the sweat lodges? If I lived close I would go for sure!! I am worried about the drop of 'wbc too for when I start cause im 65, not exactly a youngster! I hope your WBC bounces back quick. Have a great nite!!
Good nite to all my warior sisters. I hope you all sleep well and have good dreams!! Feel better sisters!!! LiveLife, thanks for your post and I hope your "jade" looks great on you!! thanks for the tip on the website about nutrition I'm gonna check that out!! alota luv.

Good Morning everyone. I don't want to brag, but I feel great. I slept great without any aids, I forgot them. I got up made banana bread for work and took my time getting ready. Feel wonderful. I think all the problems with my after the first treatment was nerves. So I just wanted to drop in and give some encouragement to those coming in and to wish luck to those that are struggling. ((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) to all. Love Kimmy
-
Kimmy BRAG away... I am a bit jealous though.
I am back from the dead, yesterday was just an awful day for me physically. Today I feel a lot better, but still feel flu like symptoms from the neulasta I think. Really sore and tired.
I got a regular flu shot from the hospital before I came home after my mastectomy. No H1N1.
Hope everyone is feeling well today and has a good day !

Wig pics!
So I took pics in both of my wigs -- the first is the one I got at the photoshoot the other day, the other one I got at the LGFB seminar. I like the cut of the first, but the second color is closer to my usual.
Here's #1
-
PAM it looks GREAT !!! You look beautiful ~ love the wig so natural looking. I am not loving any of my wigs. I ORDERED 2 MORE ~ if not dooraggggsss for me ~
-
Day five and I feel like I am on the upswing. Day three was a bad one, four was a little better and I have high hopes for five.
I had a head cold going into chemo so I am still dealing with head and chest issues. My sweat smells funky and I am still sluggish in the digestive department. Fiber and water, water and fiber....
Pam, that looks great, I need to get my wig trimmed, maybe I will try today, your pic inspired me.
-
Melinda - Glad you are feeling a little better...hoping you continue to improve!
Pam - That looks awesome, very beautiful!
Alicia- I don't think my wig looks that great on either, definitely not loving it! Hoping you will find the perfect one but I'm sure no matter what you have on, you will still look great!
Hope everyone is feeling good today and enjoys their weekend. I'm at work now but leaving in about 45 minutes for tx #2. I hope I do as well this time as I did last time!
-
RedheadPam - Wow, you look great! Wish I could find one that looks that natural! You look fantastic!
Linda
-
Torah ~ good luck with #2 today... fingers crossed all goes smoothly with little SE's. Thinking of you.
And I think your wig looks great !
-
Here's #2 -- it's a little longer in the back than you can see.....
-
HI all, and especially to all the newbies logging on to here, though at first, I always sigh that there are more tjhat have to join the group. I do believe that you could not find a better group to be with, though!
Re: Neupogen shots (was that you asking, LVLinda?)...go to the search bar and type in Neupogen and you'll get some immediate answers to your question. I have put several comments on there with my experience.
Today is day 4, post-2nd treatment for me. Yesterday was definitely the worse, today better. Was glad I kept a record of the SE's of last time, as this one is following pretty much the same path. Tastebuds are pretty much shot, but, ya just have to keep at it, trying to find what trips your trigger, even if it is ice cream for breakfast! Cream cheese on crackers is my favorite right now. McD';s milk shakes go down nicely, too. Yesterday I made choco pudding and that was good.
Anyone have any idea of how much fluid intake is too much? My hubby is worried that I'm trying to drink too much, at 5'7", 120 lbs. (am getting close to 100 oz?) I figure as long as the ol' pee is clear, I must be doing something right. And I''ve no problem with burning or irritation of any kind.
Hair still on head and face, not so much "down there." Who would have thought?!
Made it through my first Neupongen injection of my 2nd round. Saving grace is that they do the trick. Ativan is very much a sedative for me. Hadn't heard it was an upper until reading the latest posts.
BrendShar: great news from your neck-o-the-woods!!!
Wishing great treatments and no SE for everyone today and for the weekend!
