Hello all, I don't mean to be too opinionated, but i don't think Rainforest Cafe is a good choice. It will be filled with young families with very small children, it is noisy. In the old days there used to be lines outside waiting to get in. It is a great place, but not a tranquil place. I envisioned a tranquil atmosphere where we could get to know each other.

I live about 15 minutes from the Burlington Mall. There is a Macaroni Grill and Cheesecake Factory there. Are either of those better?

Didn't think of the noise, which is true.

I'll be there (wherever "there" is!).  There are so many restaurants around there.  We should probably go somewhere that takes reservations.

I know the Cheesecake Factory has a HUGE menu, so I suspect it would have something that would appeal to everyone...reservations are a great idea wherever we end up.

The Rainforest place all of a sudden reminds me of Chuckee Cheese. NO THANKS. I wish I were more familiar with that area but will have to turf the selection to someone else. Looking forward to it, whenever and whatever it may be! Sue

    Good morning --

Cheesecake Factory does have good food, but it also is hugely crowded. It is of course in the Mall.

Macaroni Grill is just down the street from the Mall, but in a self-contained building. I think it would be less busy than Cheesecake Factory and also good food.

There is a place nearby called Papparazzi. It is on Route 3 just off 128. It is also a self-contained building. Very nice restaurant. Maybe a little more expensive than Macaroni Grill. Perhaps someone could check the menus on line and see what they think.

I think Burlington is a great choice for the destination.  Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it in January.  I will keep this thread on my Favorite list to keep tabs on the goings on.

    Have fun yawl!

The dates in January sound great.  I think reservations can be made at the Macaroni Grill. They also probably have the best variety and reasonably priced food.  It is also very easy to get to.

I'll put Sunday, January 17th on my calendar.  I don't know anything about the Burlington area, so it's great that some of you guys can suggest places for us to meet.  I do look forward to having the chance to meet other folks on this Forum.

I am copying and pasting from the website that Little Red sent......seems Papa Razzi has  a private room which might be nice! Read on.....

    Thomas E.

    Prides Crossing, MA 9/2/2008

WIde menu choices with fresh sauces and pastas and a brick oven makes this a reliable choice.

Service is indeed variable.  The outdoor seating makes this a top choice for lunch on good days.

A private room upstairs bodes well for business or private functions, and you can choose between buffet style or ala carte meals.

The bottom line with me is............I will eat anything and clean my plate. I am from a big family and if you didn't like what was served at home, well, there was no alternative menu in my Mother's kitchen.

Wonder how the big buffet is.........at any rate, I am in! Sue from Worcester if anyone wants to carpool. Have a subaru outback wagon. Can take 4 more passengers. (edited to add the passenger capacity)

This is the start of that busy holiday season and we've pretty much decided upon January 17th for our get together.  I just don't want this to fall apart with all of the activity around us all.  What's the best way for us to be sure to keep aiming for the date we've set?

momand2kids, sounds like a plan. I am not familiar with the Burlington area so will defer to others as to recommendations. I think we have the date, now we just need the location and time. Sue

I think Sue-61's idea of a private room sounds good.  When a group with similar interests/concerns gets together, there tends lots of talking, cross table chatter, from one end of table to the other discussions.  In other words  - we're apt to be a bit noisy.  In a private room, we don't have to concern ourselves with other diners wishing they were somewhere else!  I'm hopeful that those of you who know the restaurant(s) mentioned will make that big decision and can reserve a room for us.  Of course, we'll need to have some sort of a number of attendees to let the restaurant manager know.   A Sunday might be a time other people holding parties, etc. could also be looking for a private room.  Just tell us where and what time.  Thanks.

sounds like January 17th at Papparazzi in Burlington--- do people want to do lunch? or dinner?  sounds like we can get a room if we know how many people will go..... let's take a count-- so the question is 1.  what time (lunch or dinner) and who is coming?

Hope you all had a nice thanksgiving

I'm definitely in for January 17th and I'd prefer lunch and a private room (depending on how many can make it)!

    Very exciting!

I'm in for that day.  I think it is a better idea to get a room and it doesn't matter to me if it's lunch or dinner.
