Goodnight on the mountain

Came to see if there was anything hot to
drink on this cold windy night. Deborye do
you have any hot chocolate left, I would love
some. Take care, Rest in His arms of love.
Hugs, footprintsangel
-
More hot chocolate on the way, I feel like some burnt marshmallows, love em cruncy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. There is a peach cobbler too Footie is you would like some, still warm from the oven.
-
Wow, I am going to enjoy the peach clobber and
hot choclate, I will start putting up a tent to keep us
warm.
-
Yes and some hot mulled cider also.
-
Thanks Deborye, That was a very good drink,
I have the tent up to stay warm and brought some
goodie and soup.
-
Hello on the mountain, it is so cold here today that I have had goosebumps all day except when bundled up in the down comforter. Just can't bring myself to turn on the heat yet and cause the electric bill to go up.
Love hot cider, i may have a cup tonight.
What kind of soup footie, at lunch I had mushroom soup and it was wonderful. I have been hungry for a beef stew with everything in it.
Hope everyone has a wonderful night
-
You got it Spar, beef stew with everything

Came to the mountain to relax and pray that Spar is doing
better, I am praying for you my friend.
-
hi mountaineers, I am hanging in there, thanks for asking Footie and thank you for your prayers. I need all of those I can get. It is getting very frustrating laying here but I am blessed to have the laptop and crafts to do and people to fix my meals so it will all be ok. Praying the next tests and x-rays reveal it is healed. Have a bone density test to be done after.
Wishing all a happy thanksgiving, lots of family food, fun, love, laughter and sports.
-
I feel like going horseback riding today (in my head of course) I don't like to trot but I love to lope, there is such a feeling of being one running through the fields, of course I like walking down trails with beautiful scenery also.
my friend is riding this proud palamino, beautiful spirited horse
I am going to ride this spirited spotted horse that has freckles like me.
There we all go we had a blast. We are going to stop and visit an Indian village and pow wow also.
It has been an amazing day. I have been to real pow wows and the dancers are amazing. I love when the women get in a circle and do that dance with the shawls.
-
Brought some hot apple cider and cinnamon rolls
for us to eat and relax here, God bless all on this mountain.

Cherokee Legend
Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage?
His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him an leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone.
Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.
He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.
The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him . Maybe even some human might do him
harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!
Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold.
It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him.
He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.
We, too, are never alone.
Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, Sitting on the stump beside us.
When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.
Moral of the story:
Just because you can't see God,
Doesn't mean He is not there.
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
-
footie, i,d sure like to have one of those rolls, drink, and good company
-
Here I am can we relax and enjoy the rest,
Need to count my blessing, Like you has
been a long week. I got some smores too.
-
Would love to have a smore and rest on the mountain for a while. It has been a good day with lots of good food but kind of a sad day too because it is my first Thanksgiving without my son and grandson here. I missed them a lot. They both texted and said happy thanksgiving but I would have loved to get a big hug and I love you mom.
Footie sending you big hugs
Estepp and Deb, hope you all had wonderful thanksgiving days
Sierra missing you and hope you post your words soon.
-
Sorry to hear that your Son and Grandson couldn't be there, my aunt, uncle and cousin could not make it because my cousin came down with a bad cold. So instead of 10 of us there was 7.
I hope everything was good.
-
Yep, it was all good and just finished a plate of leftover and DH cooked turkey noodle soup also for tonight.
A post carved and painted with a series of family or clan crests or with figures representing mythic beings and erected usually before a dwelling, as among certain Native American peoples of the northwest coast of North America. The totem pole is so much more than just a carving, it means different things to different tribes. They are all unique -
Now it is time to decorate and get ready for Christmas. I knitted everyone scarves and hats due to finances being short. the kids will also get an itunes card. We will have dinner at my daughters house then.

Spar2-I am a lurker on this thread, but I want you to know I appreciate your hard work in putting all the beautiful pictures together for everyone to enjoy. You are thoughtful and appreciated. Thank you!

My Thanksgiving was just great, lots of good food. I will cook my bird tomorrow cause today is our 39th anniversary so we will go out to eat. I do have leftovers but no turkey leftovers. I am glad everyone had a nice Thanksgiving♥

kjbell,
-
Hi kjbell, thank you so much and you are so welcome here. I appreciate you letting me know you enjoy it. Hey Deb that is a pretty cool welcome sign. Love it
Footie, sorry you had hospital food, praying you are better now. Did you know they make smore pop tarts now? Not near as good as a real smore but not bad.
I didn't get birthday cake today but got a movie and hot carmel sundae which was wonderful and a real splurgh for a diabetic. Told my husband give me some ham to balance it out with protein. LOL
Most of our trees in the back yard are still autumn colors and very beautiful. Think I will post some autumn pictures.
Everyone have a great mountain evening
