First breast cancer diagnosed at age 41 - lump found via self exam. Per the proposed changes, I'd likely be dead. Extremely aggressive, triple negative cancer.

Jill H. YEARLY mammogram found my lump. Saw ob-gyn the same day as mammogram and she did not feel the lump. No family history. If I had waited to go every 2 years, my diagnosis would probably have not been as favorable. St.1, Gr 1, 1 cm, 0/3 nodes-IMC.

The report also said breast self-exams do no good and women shouldn't be taught to do them. Thank God I did! A September 2008 mammogram didn't find anything for me. In April 2009, I found the lump myself. It was 2 cm when removed in June.

Susan Lorenz - dx age 44 - no family history. Found on routine annual mammogram. Tumor NOT detectable by touch (10 doctors tried knowing where the tumor was located and could not feel it).
My 2 kids and husband are so grateful that I had that mammogram - non digital at that.

Joan Bosh...dx @ age 50 routine mammo..... Local recurrance dx age 51 by MRI. Not seen on digital mammo. Never had palp lumps.....

we need to have early screening for women everywhere. family history or not. this is vital to early detection.
