Ladies, my sister asked me a question.  Does anyone know.  Can she have her implant put back in (it was taken out before radiation) on top of the muscle 6 months after her radiation treatments.  A nurse told her there is a possibility of capsulization (sp?).  Her radiologist says it will be okay.

Kawee..did we know that your sister too has/had breast cancer?  That sucks!... My sister in law has breast cancer also..she had both breast removed, then reconstruction, then had her fips on..took about a year...a couple of extra surgeries because they cut too close to the skin...then one of her fips is seeping junk...I just want this to be over for her!  Too much crap...mentally she is doing ok...It's so weird to have the both of us diagnosed within a few months..I took the lumpectomy, chemo, rad route...she didn't have to have chemo or rads...we have both been through alot..only different...not sure which was worse...I hated the thought of multiple surgeries...don't think she liked the thought of rads and chemo..doesn't matter we both have had to deal with it..only differently...I'm sure you understand...

Watchiing the Cleveland Browns tonight vs. the Baltimore Ravens...almost as scary as the Wizard of Oz! Do you ever notice how moves are so different than when you watched them several years ago...like Saturday Night Fever...watched it a million times when I was a kid..watched it a few  months ago..didn't realize what a dark movie it is!

As far as the Wizard of Oz goes..didn't really until know how very "fake" it is..but still ok to watch..

Ok...enough of the movie critique...guess we are supposed to be talking rads!

Thanks, Kime.  I'll check that out.

Titan - My half sister (same mom) was diagnosed 1 month before I was.

Just being frivolous. I figured out how to circumvent photobuck and re-post the Thank You cake I made for my rads team, Unfortunately, it's so small you can't see the details, including tattoos and a BC ribbon

I've been on here with every side effect and twinge during and after rads treatment, so I would be remiss if I didn't add this...After my rads tan faded, I noticed I had at least a dozen new freckles/moles on my rib area.  Just like typical sun damage would give you.  Great!  I was just thinking I didn't have enough of those already!

Christy...whatever...it sure looks like you are flipping off the treatment room to me!  I mean,,just look at it...

Anyway...as far as this new "edict" goes about having mamos at 50...it does say that doctors and insurance companies (hopefully) are not going to abide by this BS (and I don't mean breast surgeon)...I'm not sure how old all of us all but I"m thinking most of us here were diagnosed b-4 we were 50...These men..and I'm sure they were men...are idiots...I think it is time that they really do come up with a test for men that have their penis smashed...I think it would be hilarious.

    Dear Titan,

I agree that this sucks and smells of being decided by men. we should make them wait till they are 80 for routine colon and prostrate cancer screening.

Woo hoo..Mtg finally got to see your boob cake. Quite a set of ta tas. Lovin it!

Christy -Titan is right it does look like you are flipping off the treatment center. How are you doing?

Titan - I see you are still stirring the pot here. I'm not sure I would have made it through chemo and rads with out you. Work has been crazy for me the past two weeks, this is my busy season so I will most likely be lurking for a while. It's hard to keep up. Last night I fell asleep in my chair..I never do that!

My arm is super sore still from my last blood draw. They nicked the vein and I bled out into my elbow and lower arm. It looks worst than it feels.

Kawee - I decided pilates was too much for me. I'm holding off until January. My chest wall really hurt after just 10 mins. Plus my onc office told me not to work out until my arm stops bleeding. Of course they said if blood starts squirting out...head to the ER. See if I ever bring them caramels again....

My burns on my chest have FINALLY healed up. It took 6 weeks. No more silvadene! I went through 4 jars of it.  I have decided to try to go to NOLA and get a s-gap flap surgery. They will remove the contaminated expander for me. I just have to check with my insurance and figure out how soon I can get there because this expander needs to be removed soon.  Betsy...that is too bad about your arm, I hope it gets better soon.   Titan...Yes, it  does look like I am flipping off the treatment room. Maybe secretly deep down that is what I actually was doing! hee hee

MTG, I love the cake. I am so glad to finally see it! It came out great!

I'm 2 weeks out from rads and still tire much more easily than I thought I would. Other than that, I'm feeling good. I am just on Herceptin until the end of May and that just feels psychologically difficult, but physically I am okay. I went to a yoga class the other day through our cancer wellness community and I'm out of shape. I walk the dog every day, but the yoga used muscles that I don't think I've used in forever! It felt good, really great to be doing something for myself and to help me get stronger.

I'm thankful to be on this side of my treatment. So thankful.

    Pam

I like the idea of flipping off the treatment room better than ringing the bell, actually! I remember that I flipped of the cancer center a couple of times b-4 I started treatment when we passed it on the highway..my DH would say why would you flip it off ...they are going to help you...!  I don't know..it made me feel better....

And Betsy..I couldn't have made it through chemo/rads etc. WITHOUT any of you..You have saved my life...by freaking out with me when I'm freaking out...calming me down when I need calmed down...always knew that I could sit down at my PC and know that someone would respond to whatever I threw out there...I try to do the same thing back...plus throw in a little fun...cancer is NOT fun..but LIFE is...and that is what we are all here for...!  None of us deserved this ***s**h***t...but it is here now...not going to sit around crying in my wine..gonna drink it up!

Christy...sorry no facebook for me. I can hardly keep up with this forum. I barely know how to use a cell phone. I know it sounds like I'm from the dark ages...but I'm not that old. I just work on computers all day at work and until this forum have stayed clear of computers on my off hours. Plus I don't have kids to push me into this century.

I've decided my Avatar needs to go generic since my fellow buzz tops are not showing their locks.

Oregon puts out some good wines. Right now I'm trying a Napa Valley Fume Blanc. A little dry for my palette. Next week there are a bunch of Willamette Valley wine tastings part of a big fall harvest. I've never gone to any of these events. Maybe this year I can talk my dh into going. Regardless, sending a toast out to you sistas.. as a wise Vulcan once said... may you live long and prosper!

Laura & Christy - you both look great! Wow...two pics in one day. I may have to update my avatar again. Laura, I think it's the jumping off point...time to go topless. Christy, it's hard to tell by our avatar how long your hair is. I had you as a blond all these months. Your hair looks dark. Is that your natural color? Or did your color change, like mine, when your hair started coming back in?

    Congrats ladies...you both look marvelous!
