doctor says nodular feeling in uterus?

I have been on tamoxifen for about 2 1/2 years now.  My onc says that tamox can cause uterine cancer, although the probability is very small, because it has an estrogen effect in the uterus.  I'm 44 and premenopausal, although my periods are very irregular.  I just had my physical, and my PCP gave me a pap smear.  I pretty much got a clean bill of health, and I feel fine.  However, my doc said my uterus felt nodular, although she said she didn't feel a mass, and therefore she's sending me to see a gynecologist to get a uterine ultrasound as a precautionary measure.

Now I'm getting very nervous.  Have any of you ladies had a bumpy feeling uterus?  What can it possibly be now?

    san4850,

It could be fibroids (read B9) or possibly polyps (also read B9).  I've been on tamox for over 2 years as well and have had a few ultrasounds for an enlarged uterus.  Just had a D & C due to the increased lining, but all was well.  Don't worry (I know, hard to do) until you need to.

    Hugs to you!

Every time I get Pet/ct scan, they remark that my uterus is enlarged and nodular probably representing fibroids. I was told as long as they aren't bothering you, they pretty much ignore them.
