Heading to U.S. tomorrow - ISO Inexpensive Camis

Hi all:

Just a quick post -

Due to bone mets in my spine, my current mastectomy bras are painful to wear because of the clasps at the back.  I have a racer back mast. bra with a closure in the front but the "x" at the back also bothers my spine.

I'm looking for an inexpensive cami with "faux" pockets at the front where I can stick my "tit bits" in.  The weight of my prosthesis (B cup) also aggrevates my back so I'm wearing my light, knitted tit bits in the meantime.  I remember reading years ago on these thread something about camis found at Kmart or Walmart, etc.  My mastectomy bra fitter has NOTHING in stock in the way of Camis.  She even called Amoena and they're SOLD OUT of all cami-type garments.

I've read about "finds" at Kmart, etc.  Many of these stores are in the U.S. and when I'm there over the weekend I can do some searching.  Any advice would be helpful.  Thanks.

Cheryl.

TLC, which is the on-line catalog for the American Cancer Society, carries both camis and tank tops with pockets, for a very reasonable price.  You could even use a regular cami with a shelf bra and pin your titbits into it to keep them in place.  I do that with my Amoena 126 form and it works out very well.  You could also use one of the "leisure" bras that have pockets.  They're pretty inexpensive and comfortable.  They hook in the front.   Most of the mast bra brands carry a version of it.

Many of us here love the very comfortable Still You Cami Tank Top http://www.stillyoufashions.com/tanktop.html, but TLC has a cami that might work very well for you.  It has a shelf type bra/pockets in the front, but no part of the shelf bra circles around the back.  Does that make sense?  In the back, it's just single layer cami, so would not add any pressure to the spine at all.   Any forms or "titbits" would just kind of hang in the front.  Sounds odd, but it does work rather well for me with the cami tucked in to keep everything in the right place.   http://www.tlcdirect.org/products/sku-8067_dept-15.html

I don't know your size but American Eagle Outfitters on line sells a few camis with removable foam inserts--I bought two in anticipation of not being able to wear a bra for awhile after my mastectomy.
