bump/pimple on leg
Comments

I have what looks like a pimple or small, hard, white bump on my left thigh. It's been there several months, and I realized that I've always worried about it in the back of my mind. Could it be sign of a recurrence? I had cancer in my left breast and nodes on that side.

Squeeze it and find out. I've never heard of a recurrence showing up as a pimple.....

I had something like this on my chest that was biopsied and turned out to be nothing. See a dermatologist if you are concerned. It could be the kind of mole that should be removed. Doesn't sound like bc.

Lopsided,
I have one of those too! It's been there for a very long time, and I remember freaking out about it when I first found it. After I saw your post, I looked for it and it's still there, and still the same size it was six months ago. I assume it's just an age-related thing, like a hard little lump of fat under the skin (how attractive). I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.

never, ever heard of it coming back like that. Surely not BC. . . But why deal with the anxiety, call a dermatologist tomorrow and make an appointment . . . .

it very possibly is just a hard pimple/whitehead.. i get those things often - on the bridge of my eyebrows and on my thighs. - they'll grow slowly for a while... sometimes they are present for almost a year before they become mature enough to come to head and be squeezed out.
i would put hot wash clothes on it periodically for a week or two.. encourage it to 'come to a head' .. you can then squeeze it out.. you will be able to see within a week if it is responding to the heat treatment.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'm most concerned it could be skin mets, not an actual tumor. It looks like the couple skin met photos I've seen on the Web, but those usually appear near the surgical scar and mine is obviously away from that. Is it possible to get skin mets at a distant location?

just an update--turns out it was a benign fibrodaema (sure I spelled that wrong) that's common on the lower part of the body (didn't know that).

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. Two years ago, I developed a pimple-like spot on my lower leg. Check with dermatologist, and she said that it was ok. Continued to change, and was rechecked every six months as part of a routine appointment for something else. The spot was frozen once but came back. Three weeks ago, the PA in the practice did a biopsy, and wouldn't you know, I got the news last week that it is malignant. Scheduled for surgery on February 1.
My suggestion is to continue to be your own advocate about your monitoring and care.
