I'm not sure if this is the right place to be but here goes...I just finished chemo 2 weeks ago..dose dense ac/taxol.  Anyway..I asked the onc to schedule a mammogram for my left breast because it had been a year.  I had it last Friday and now I have to go back for a magnification!  The radiogist report said that there are a group of 4 round dense microcalcifications in my upper breast.  They were seen "faintly" one year ago.

Should be I be freaking!  I know I already am!

    Titan,

I finished Chemo July 26, same than you A/C Taxol. I had a mammo the same week I finished Chemo. In my bad breast were still some microcalcifications.( After 8 rounds of chemo  WTF...)

I just had a mastectomy this Monday, after I had a lumpectomy in January.

I feel much safer, much better. Ok, no more right breast, but I know the monster is gone.

Check it out, if you can get surgery right away, dont delay a minute.

Dont freak out, but be very pro-active. Its your health.

    Good luck.

Thanks Carol....I find out tomorrow if they are bad or not..if they are I'm leaning for a double masectomy...don't really want to go there...would prefer taking out the bad calcifations because I absolutely hate the thought of being in surgery and recovery that  long,,.but like you said..it is MY life and I need to be proactive

Ok..just came back from the radiologist.  I have 4 calcifications..3 are round and benign...one is rod shaped and suspicious.  So I meet with the surgeon next Monday to discuss biopsy.  The radiologist said Bi-rad of 4.  He also said that normally he would have me wait 6 months to come back but with my "history" he wanted me to take action now.

Titan, Im sorry to hear about the calcifications.  I have them too. Like Carol, I did four rounds of DD AC and I am not even done w/ taxol yet so wth. Had a lumpectomy in May, had my six month follow up and bam - calcs. I go for a biopsy on Monday - praying its nothing.  I am leaning toward a bmx.  Carol, question, did you do rads at all?

I had IDC, followed by a mastectomy and DD A/C and DD Taxol. 7 1/2 months later I went for my annual mammogram and they found what looked like calcification. Because of my history the doctor did a biopsy. It was DCIS, which wasn't there when I was diagnosed the first time. I chose to have another mastectomy and genetic testing. I am BRCA 2+ so I've also had a preventative hysterectomy w/BSO to try and avoid ovarian cancer.

Hang in there. I'll keep my fingers and eyes crossed that your results are B9...
