Angelcakes, I can't believe I'm saying this because I have chosen not to do chemo myself, but even I doubt that 3% figure. There are MANY people who live good lives for years after chemo. One of my friends is going on 9 years post-chemo, and my brother's mother-in-law went through it 15 years ago and is doing great today.

I had already decided that if my doctors FORCE me to go through chemo, I will take matters into my own hands afterward to rebuild my immune system, including exercising and sleeping at night and consuming foods that have been proven to help your body fight cancer. That gives your body a fighting chance to keep any stray cancer cells at bay, rebuild the strength of your liver and pancreas (two organs that HAVE to be in good shape for your body to fight cancer), and hopefully prevent a recurrence.

Chin up! Don't despair! Accept that chemo has killed off the cancer for now, and be grateful for that... but at the same time, accept that chemo has damaged your body, but there are steps you can take to rebuild it and make it more resistent to cancer than ever before!!

(Just ignore my signature... that's only meant for certain trolls who keep coming to the Alternative/Complementary forum and telling us we're going to die if we don't do things the "accepted U.S. cancer industry" way... I respect EVERYone's approach to fighting this as long as they respect mine! Smile)

    You're going to be fine!!

    Angelcakes, cite your source please.

Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor?

Do not believe everything you read on the internet.
