You guys are too funny. I think this will become my version of a fishing tale, lots better in the re-telling !
-
Hey all...gheesh I miss one day and miss the "violated image". Must have been good!!! Congrats Mtg!
Titan - glad you got the all clear, I go in next week for back to back onc meetings. First the med onc then the rads onc. They better not have any more tricks up their sleeves. I'm done. My mammogram is suppose to be scheduled for February. The one year mark. This year seems to be flying by. I'm finally healthy...and boy do I feel happy. I know what you mean about being THANKFUL.
elimar -you crack me up!
ccbaby - have you begun to heal?
Gotto go to work...blaaah...blaah. Later
-
Don't tell anyone but they didn't delete it from THIS THREAD! It is one page 20!!! Look quickly!
-
Nope, it's gone. For those of you who missed it, I'm sorry. It was great!!!!!
-
Oh well, I missed it but am using my imagination! I love seeing us laugh and joke together. We have all been through so much but I hope that for most/all of us, that the worst is OVER.
-
It still is there on MY SCREEN! You guys must have chemo brain to not see it!
-
Titan - You know we all think you're special....clearly photobucket agrees ! Here's what the rest of us are seeing:
M -
Ok..I'm special but what am I missing here? That is what I get for skimming over the pages and just trying to get the highlights! So...the cake above is ok and passed inspection..so what did the cupcakes look like? What did you do?????
-
Gee how wierd. The thing I copied and sent you is a red square saying: "This message or image violated our terms of use. Photobucket."
-
OK..I KNOW I'm easily confused..but...on page 20 on MY SCREEN..there was a white boob cake...with an x in the middle of the boobs..and there were nipples (can I say that???)..plus a pink breast ribbon..plus a tube of aquaphor and some other stuff....my brain (chemo)..certainly couldn't imagine that by itself!...If I am..then I am certainly in trouble! Maybe I'm not "stable" after all!! Oh well..maybe I will see the hairy fairy tonight! Yay!
OK..never mind..I just looked at page 20 and it is gone..just the red block saying that MTG is way out of line...I honestly don't think that the cake was that bad...but rules are rules..I guess!
-
The thing is....who's watching?........Who is the one that made the decision about the cake being not OK?.........Hmmmmm.....
-
Shhh...the cake is back! It is on this page now! I hope you guys can see it or I know I'm going crazy!
-
Titan - I think the reason you can still see it is because the image is stored in your cache (I think that is what it is called). And I think it is Photobucket (photo sharing site) NOT this site that blocked the photo.
-
Ttian - We're both suffering from very rare SE of Radiation - me: baking obscenaTiTis and you: seeing obscenaTiTis.
-
Good one MTG...I see the Rad Onc tomorrow..when he asks me "if I have any questions"...I will say yes...I keep seeing a boob cake that appears and then disappears! For a minute there I was thinking I was going nuts until Amy explained it to me...just goes to show you how close we are to crossing that line!
It is SNOWING here...it really is..I'm not the only one to see it!
-
There is a new breast cancer discussion group on Facebook that a woman from these pages started. It's called Crusading Breast Cancer. I encourage you "sistahs" to join. There is nobody censuring what people say or pictures they post and some good discussions have begun. If you go to the page, you have to request an invitation to join since it is only open to breast cancer patients. I'm sure they would LOVE your "tastey tits".
-
Thanks for the tip! I'm already on facebook and I will go look for this.
-
Hey girls, I went to my bs today. She says she is the one that will be scheduling my mammograms from now on. She gave me another breast exam and scheduled my mammo for April. She says usually the rad onco sees you once after you rads are done. But, hey, they all say different things. I like her alot, tho, so I'm glad she's the ONE!
-
I see both BS and Rad onc. tomorrow..guess I will get felt up twice..
-
I guess doctors' visits are next on everyone's list. Saw my surgeon today. (Love him !!!!) We worked out my follow up testing schedule. In addition to MRI and Ultrasound, he still feels an annual mammogram is important. Since my mammos couldn't distinguish between a cyst and cancer, you can imagine how valuable I think they are ! (NOT !) But hey, he's definitely got my back ....or in this case. my front ! Next step gyno, onco and then.... dum, dee, dumm dum...Tamoxifen.
-
Yes..I guess doctor vistis are better than chemo and rads...I'm wondering what the BS has in store for me..then the rad onc. later..then the chemo onc in Dec....I know the chemo onc said no scans unless I'm symptomatic...ok...I wouldn't mind an MRI and Ultrasound now and then either...I am with you MTG on the mammogram..not really thrilled with them..was glad to hear that I was "stable' on Monday...but I was also "clear" one year ago in August based on a mammo..DON'T THINK SO! whenever I mention that to any doctor know they just kind of hang their heads...soo..what does that mean? Someone screwed up?? Who? Or..was it really NOT there...sometimes I wonder..but then again..what can I do about it now..nothing..what is done..is done..thank God I didn't wait 6 months to have my lump check out or I may not be here right now messing with you guys about boob cakes..I'm serious...which is something I usually don't bother to be!

Since I'm in the exact same boat, I definitely understand what you mean about being thankful we're weren't good little girls who waited till our next appointment. Now, as for "wondering", no need. I requested and got copies of all my films for the last several years - mammos, Ultrasounds/ Sonos, MRIs as well as copies of the doctor's "Notes" reviewing them. Now, while I can't read the films, I am able to read and understand the notes.
Of course, with that said - and I hate to admit it - but I can see where the doc thought it was a cyst. I've had them often. They come, hang out a while and then go. If he had biopsied all of them, my breast would have been marked up with senseless biopsy scars and I'd have been very unhappy. The sneaky SOB cancer snuck in there !
Just for your own piece of mind, you might want to check into it. If something blatant was missed, there's always legal action.
-
TITAN - Did they not stick needles in your cysts? I used to get them all the time too. I can't tell you how many needles I've had stuck in me and ultrasounds too. Cysts have clear fluid in them so they would draw the fluid out with a needle, send it to the lab, just to check it out. Once they drained it, no more cyst. If they get blood, then it can be a tumor.
-
If I ever had cysts I never knew it....I never saw films, reports or anything..in fact when I had the microcalicifications in my left breast this summer I was told that they were there one year ago..I didn't know I had them one year ago....today at my BS appt. I plan on going over the films with him and the reports...I want to know everything....
-
I have had a couple of cyst that they did needle biopsy. I had calcifications back in my mammos from 1993 even. I knew they were there because they had to do extra films with the small square to get a good compression on that area. They have been there ever since but apparently changed this year so that is why they did the stereotatic needle core biopsy and found the DCIS. It is very common to have calcifications but they usually aren't cancerous. They always look for a change in the way they are distributed. It is amazing all we have learned that we never knew before.
-
Just so we dont scare everyone, I'm pretty certain that cysts and calcifications dont actually turn into cancer; they just make it easier for the cancer to hide, kindof like a mugger hiding in a crowd.
Peg 119 - What's your thinking on this ?
-
Peg..I had never heard of microcalcifications before this summer...I remember thinking..what the heck????? And then I read everything I could about them and freaked out. But they ended up nothing.
Just got back from the BS...I am CLEAR! YAY! I have to see him again in 6 months.
-
That's great news Titan. Congratulations.
-
I have quite a few microcalcifications. The Dr. explained to me, it's when it's in a linear pattern and not just speckled here and there that it could be DCIS. He showed me mine and this time they were in a linear pattern. That's why the biopsy.
I had my first benign tumor at 17, many needle biopsies, another precancerous lump in 1989. All in the same breast. This is the breast with the DCIS. He says this type of breast tends to get DCIS. I asked if I should get a masectomy, he said the radiation would take care of it, it would kind of sterilize the breast??????
-
When I had my calcs. biopsied this summer the doctor told me that IF they were cancerous that I would have had to have radiation only....no chemo...They turned out to vascular calcs...which freaked me out and I said that to the doctor and he just kinda yelled back at me THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR HEART! I think I drive him nuts....oh well!
