I am a 41 yo female, never had a child with a family history of Ovarian and Uterin cancers. I like most posters have had extrememly itchy nipple on my left breast, never my right, a white pimple like on the tip of my nipple that has never gone away, no discharge and deep, painful burning sensations since Oct/Nov 08. I see a dermatologist every three moinths for a history of skin cancer, and he said the pimple looked like a clogged milk duct, don't worry. The pain inside my breast feels like I am holding a hot cup of coffee, and makes me squeeze it it hurts so bad, has persisted as well as the scaly, flaky rash on my nipple.

My U/S and 2 Mamograms have come back with "extrememly dense breast tissue" . My PCM referered me to a OG/GYN and he did a punch biopsy of the breast skin, not the nipple in June 09 and it came back 'prolific lymphositic cells' and he said I was fine. I asked for a refferal to a specialist and my PCM agreed and her referred me to a OB/GYN at Scott &White who ordered the 2nd Mamogram and the U/S. The radiologist said he did not see anything but breast tissue and I had very dense breasts I was fine. So I came home and looked up Dense breast tissue, since that seemed an odd term to me. And I now know it is extrememly diificult to see cancer through dense breast tissue. Any way I went back to the OB/Gyn and said my symptoms were continueing and also at times my breast felt very warm to the touch and I have discomfort in the shower. They have now reffered me to a breast sx, I go November 24. I know that from the internet IBC is agreessive, and Pagets rash is nasty, anyone else had these symptoms for this long?

Pain is not usually a symptom of pagets.  The itching can be rash or something else. the percentages are on your side for it being something other than cancer.

Paget's is one of the cancer's I had.  Yes, the itching went on for 2 years before it was finally identified. You are doing the correct things by going to a SX.  If you want to finally know if it's pagets, you have to have a biopsy of the nipple tissue. do make sure the pathologist is experienced.  It's pretty uncommon as a type of cancer so sometimes pathologists are not familiar with it.

I hope that this proves to be just an annoying rash.  Good luck.

The sx I am seeing is the breast Specialist in the Oncology department at a major hospital, so I am pretty confident she will be knowledgable. The biopsy on my breast was only ythe surface tissue last time, how invasive it a biopsy of the nipple?
