Life Beyond Femara...

   I was diagnosised with IDC stage 1, grade 3 five years ago this month.  In December my oncologist is going to let me get off Femara - yeah!  Has anyone else gotten off this med?  How are you feeling?  Aches go away?  Weight go down?  I am anxious to see how my body will respond.  I just thought I'd see how others feel once they are off of it.  Thank you.

    I got off Femara at the 4 year point. My energy got better. I can't say that I lost any weight. But my aches and pains improved. Life was good.

    Then I got a new primary in the other breast a year later...probably was dormant there the whole time I was on Femara. So, now I'm on Aromasin.

    Congrats on hitting that 5 year point!! That's awesome!

    Thank you, Anne.  I am so sorry you got hit with it on the other breast.  I hope you are doing better.  That is my fear, but I still want off the drug.  I'll just take my chance - kwim?  Just curious, if you had to do over again would you have stayed on it?  I sure dislike taking it.  It is just a hard juggle of what to do.  Thanks again and I'll be praying for you.
